What you can pick
In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Maryland, not a guarantee for this exact farm.
Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Maryland.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Payment notes on file: American Express, Discover, Mastercard, VISA. Cash still helps at smaller stands.

“Just peachy! Fun and interesting. Loved riding to and from the groves on a tractor-pulled tram. Picturesque, gently-rolling MD countryside views are abundant on this 100+ year-old, 600 acre family farm. Great for kids with multiple playground areas and a very cool petting zoo. Nice farm store filled to bursting with produce, plants, unique groceries, jams, and items galore! Another season and it apple and pumpkin time!! Lots of selections for your autumn enjoyment -- from gourds and pumpkins of every kind to a selection of apples so varied, I guarantee you will see a new type you've never seen before! Nice clean facilities. Helpful, friendly staff. Highly recommended! Visit in all seasons -- you can't go wrong!”

“My family and I had a great time. It costed $16 entry which included a hay ride to the pumpkin patch. Where you picked out of ALL size 🎃. Pumpkins are around .59cents per lb to .69/lb. All different shapes , sizes and colors. (White, Orange/streaks of white and everything in between). They also have many different kinds of apple trees . Sunflowers to pick. There was a store with tons of FRESH food and our favorite Pumpkin roll! Which is the best I've had! Face painting and a pet farm where you can interact with all types of animals. Pigs, goats , rabbits , donkeys ducks and more. Plenty of parking . Just a great place to take the whole Family.”

“First time visiting this farm and my family and I enjoyed ourselves. They have a petting zoo, multiple playgrounds for the kids, vendors, farmers market and face painting. Everything at the market and entrance to the fields are nicely priced. Strollers, bags, and wagons are not allowed in the field and they offer an area to leave them. You definitely will need that stroller for your little one when you return . These apples were so delicious. I’m never buying them from the grocery store again. The food at the vendor trucks was actually good. Can’t wait to go back when it gets warmer to pick additional fruit.”

“Great, family-friendly place. There's the market and small playground, where you wait to get picked up for the fruit picking. It can be a bit pricey, but it's a full experience and well worth it. Down the hill from the establishment is a grassy park area with more parking and a petting zoo with goats. They have a culvert pipe slide that children love too. I've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed this orchard.”

“They have so many options. The petting farm, the market of fresh fruits and veggies and homemade jams, spreads, sauces, honey, etc. They have ice cream, baked goods as well as a pick your own tour. I left out a few things, but I loved it here and will be back.”

“Baugher’s Orchard & Farm is a quintessential Maryland family farm experience — offering fresh produce, homemade baked goods, interactive farm fun, and seasonal festivals across a sprawling property. It’s a beloved local gem with high praise for its fruit quality, friendly staff, and festive atmosphere. If you’re planning a visit during a busy season, plan ahead — call first, go early, and be prepared for a crowd. But be ready to indulge in warm donuts, pick-your-own fruit, and a true rural escape. Highly recommended for families and agritourism lovers!”

“Took a friend for a day trip from the DC suburbs. We both had half cheese steak sub, which was tasty. I didn't realize it until the bill came but the fries were extra. She had onion rings (3 of them in the serving). Fries were real good. Had banana pudding ice cream for dessert - best ice cream I ever had! Went to the market on site. Great prices on produce. Drove down to the petting zoo at the farm, which was a very pleasant experience. Would suggest better signage for the zoo and handicap parking. Otherwise, we had a real nice outing.”

“Went peach picking with family. The peaches and nectarines were delicious. We got tickets ahead of time but this is unnecessary and you also pay an overhead for processing. There is a nice play area and farm animals for kids. The sugar free cherry pie from the shop was not popular and the honey comb was not local. So check labels. But the fruits we picked were really juicy and tasty.”
