Get Picking (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at getpicking.com, a directory of u-pick and pick-your-own farms in the United States. Questions about this policy: Contact us or email hello@getpicking.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — name, email address, and password (or Google account identity if you sign in with Google).
- Farm submissions — farm name, address, city, state, phone, website, produce notes, and other details you submit when adding, claiming, or updating a listing.
- Messages — name, email, subject, and message content when you use our contact form.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages viewed, approximate time on site, referring URL, browser type, and device type.
- Location — only if you choose “Near me” / location features; your browser may share approximate or precise coordinates with us for that session’s search. We do not require location to browse the directory.
- Cookies and similar tech — see our Cookie Policy.
- Maps — map tiles and attribution are provided by third-party map providers (e.g. OpenStreetMap / CARTO). Their servers may receive your IP address when tiles load.
3. How we use information
- Operate and improve the farm directory, search, maps, and season tools
- Create and secure user accounts, and process farm submissions
- Respond to contact requests and support questions
- Measure traffic and understand which pages are useful
- Show advertising (including personalized ads where allowed) through partners such as Google AdSense or Mediavine once enabled
- Detect abuse, spam, and security issues
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service
4. Advertising & analytics partners
We may use third-party advertising networks (including Google AdSense and/or Mediavine) and analytics tools. These partners may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to serve ads, limit how often you see an ad, and measure campaign performance. 5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers — hosting, email delivery, authentication (e.g. Google OAuth), and map providers who process data on our behalf
- Advertising partners — as described above, when ads are active
- Legal requests — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety
- Business transfers — if Get Picking is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale
Farm listing content you submit for publication (name, address, hours notes, produce tags, etc.) is intended to appear publicly on the site after review.
6. Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward if needed for security or legal reasons. Contact messages and submissions are retained as long as needed to process them and maintain the directory. You may request deletion of your account data via Contact.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data (including encrypted connections in production and hashed passwords for email accounts). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Children’s privacy
Get Picking is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

- Update or delete your account by contacting us
- Decline browser location permission
- Control cookies via your browser and our cookie notice where shown
- Opt out of personalized Google ads via Google’s ad settings
10. International visitors
We primarily serve users in the United States. If you access the site from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the U.S. Where required by law, we will provide additional rights information on request.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
