Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Florida.
- Check whether this stop is a stand, orchard tour, or full farm experience before you arrive.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I have been gardening for over fifty years and had the opportunity recently to tour these gardens. The size and variety of plants was intriguing. Tom Armstrong the garden supervisor is very knowledgeable and caring for both the plants as well as the students. This is a wonderful and enriching opportunity for students with physical and mental handicaps to get caring and professional help in agricultural education.”
