Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in California.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“What a great place for the family, regardless of how young/old your children are. We have been coming for 30+ years and our “kids” still enjoy it. Over the years we have been able to watch this location grow and become the outdoor venue it is today. It puts all other pumpkin patches to shame and the baked goods, fudges, cookies and apple cider are fantastic! With its growth, it can become busy. Word of caution- to avoid lunch lines eat early or later. We usually do this, but mis-timed our day on Saturday 9/12 and could not get to the lunch line until noon. We finally made it through and sat down to eat just about 1:00 pm, so a good hour wait. Also, if you want apple cider slushies, they now have a variety of location spread throughout where you can get them. Lines may be less long there than compared to the Cider Mill. Likewise, maybe if all you want is a hot dog on a pretzel bun and drink, maybe try the new food service by the large slide to avoid the lines (or pack your own lunch). Also, mid week is usually quieter- but then some things are not open (at least last year) and, heh, lines are half the experience! Went back on Saturday 10/18/25. We arrived about 10:15 am and no line to get into parking, which cost $20 on weekends. The cost is well worth it though as everything else is free ( but the rides/ attractions). Saw the stunt dog show and pig races, which were great. Some of us rode the carousel while others rode the tractors, which is a farm version of Its a Small World almost complete with animatronics singing old McDonald. Great for young ones. Also did the hay ride to the pumpkin fields. All in all a great time. Crowds significantly larger, but we brought own lunch this time. There were also many food trucks and booths spread out on premises so I did not notice too large of waits. We left around 2:00 pm and noticed a significant line of cars waiting to enter. Again- highly rated pumpkin farm!!”

“I first visited this Pumpkin Event because someone who had been here last year recommended it as a fun place for the whole family. I was surprised to find out how big the farm is. It's a wonderful place for entertainment for people of all ages. Here are my thoughts on the pros and cons of the event: ### Pros: - A wide range of activities: piggy's race, free Hale ride, "Marble rush", slides for adults and children, 6-minute free pony ride for children with limited age, and many more! - Spots for family events such as weddings, birthdays, graduations, and more celebrations. - Snack, alcohol, ice cream, and burger cafes. - A contact zoo. - Washing stations to wash hands after fun activities like touching animals or digging in the soil. - Individually picked pumpkins from the harvesting field. - A music band. - And more! ### Cons: - Price: entry for one adult and a child over 7 is $64. A picture (a child riding a pony) costs 3x25, and a small water bottle is $5. - Very little shade: it's easy to get heat stroke from being in the sun while there. - Most parking lots are far from the farm entrance. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this place. You'll have a lot of fun!”

“I recently visited a pumpkin farm and had such a wonderful time. The farm had huge pumpkins and an amazing variety of different kinds. There were also many little shops to explore, each with fun things to see. I really enjoyed walking through the pumpkin field and the sunflower field, which looked beautiful. One of the highlights was the train ride—it was so much fun to ride around the farm. There were also lots of different attractions that made the visit exciting. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.”

“Loved this pumpkin patch. They have lots of food options , delicious sweet treats. The pricing is def higher than deserved , but at the end of the day it’s a business so I get the hustle. The parking was free though — which is amazing and appreciated and so was the hayride. There are little shops , activities for kids , hayride and a train ride. The staff was sweet and welcoming, everyone we met was lovely.”

“— Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm Review — This place is really fun and awesome. I go there every single fall with my family. What makes it even better is their slushy apple cider drinks, yum! They have hay rides which is honestly really hard to get on the 3 seats. Almost everyone takes them unless you want to wait 25 minutes in line 1st. Highly recommend this place in November or October!”

“Love this place! You gotta try ALL the yummy desserts! They are so so good! If you're ok with crowds the weekend has so much great entertainment and shows, but know there are long lines for everything and parking is $20. If you go Monday-thursday it's free to park and there are no lines but there's also no entertainment or shows. Regardless, this is a must for the fall!”

“Biggest pumpkin patch super fun they have a lot of attractions and playgrounds. Sunflower fields are beautiful and you can pick some not expensive. The food is good and the floats are yummmy. Great family experience for pumpkin season.”

“Our family loves BPF. We’ve been coming here every year for the past 10 years or so. There is plenty to do and lots of goodies to keep you full or take home and share. The kids love the petting zoo and train ride the most.”
