What you can pick
In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Missouri, not a guarantee for this exact farm.
Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Missouri.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Everything about my first visit is noteworthy & amazing. The owners have accomplished so much since acquiring this location. My original intention was to purchase 2 Haskap plants to replace 2 that didn't survive the winter. I also purchased 5 cherry bushes, 3 white & 2 red that they were running a deal on. All of their plants are healthy & well cared for, waiting for a permanent home. I was also inspired to do something different with the decor at my mailbox. I will be adding a cacti garden instead of the more common iris, peony & rose displays that populate my neighborhood. I will be returning next year in order to purchase items that were already sold out this year. The owners are easy to chat with & very knowledgeable of the products they supply. If I could give them a rating better than 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟, I would do it in a heartbeat, simply because they've earned it!”

“We went there for their dwarf cherry trees but left with a lot more! I appreciate that the owner is really knowledgeable and uses seeds from her plants that do well in our area. She was very helpful - if you’re looking for a plant that will work in a certain part of you’re garden or describe what you want the plant to do (flowering in xyz months, stay green, etc.) she can point you in the right direction. Will be going back! *you may want to message her on Facebook or call before heading out there. I’m not sure how regular their hours are, and she only has certain things available during part of the spring/summer/fall.”

“Boston Berry Farm is a fantastic place, especially if you’re looking to grow your own berries. I bought a berry plant there and was really impressed with the quality—it looked healthy, strong, and well taken care of. John and denise are very friendly and knowledgeable, giving helpful tips on how to plant and care for it. The farm itself is clean, organized, and easy to walk through, which made the whole experience enjoyable. Highly recommend if you’re thinking about starting your own berry plants or just want good quality plants!”

“Absolutely great plants at a great price. Knowledgeable people with great quality of plants. Nice and healthy. I went in search of some native plants and unique things for my edible landscape. Exactly the right place to go for a variety of options.”

“Drove all that way and no one came out to speak with us. We where there at least 20 minutes looking around and NO sign of life! Maybe a welfare check is needed!”
