What you can pick

In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for California, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in California.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“oh my gosh! First of all - the best pie I have ever tasted in my life! I usually just eat the berry filling because I’m not big on crust but oh this is so delicious! They are expensive, like everything nowadays, but it is worth it! I can’t believe that I just found out about this place and I’ve lived in Redding for over 20 years. The berries are delicious, Tom was very friendly, accommodating and informative. I have never picked blackberries(boysenberries) so conveniently before, we got almost 10 pounds in 10 or 15 minutes without one scratch! And the berries are organic. Will definitely be a regular customer.!!”

“Such a lovely U Pick farm! Amble amount of berries and they are very organized with necessary picking items. Such a sweet couple,it was a pleasant experience meeting them Bring- water, gloves, sunscreen and please as a customer be respectful of the plants so we can all enjoy them annually. Yellow jackets are down low, use that stick to retrieve your lost berry 😅”

“Amazing boysenberry jam! My parents live in Orland and told me about this farm recently. I live out of state and was happy to learn they have an online store. The jam is beyond delicious! If I'm being totally honest, I found myself eating the jam with a fork straight out of the jar because it was so fantastic! Best jam I have ever tasted in my life!”

“This was my first time picking Boysenberries and it was great. Nettie, the owner couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Be sure to wear a hat as there is no shade. The berries are sweet and juicy!! Can’t wait to make pies and jam!! I will definitely come back next season!!!”

“A great chance to get fresh berries that taste delicious. 2nd year in a row made delicious jam, cobbler and saved some for a pie this winter. Thanks for opening up your field and sharing your bounty!”
