Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Virginia.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We went here for my Kindergartener's first pumpkin patch/field trip. It may not be biggest place but its very friendly and well run for class trips. They had smaller patch reserved for classes to cut their pumpkins off vine and even had them dig up sweet potatoes to learn more about how things grow. They also instructed them how to plant pumpkin seeds to take home and grow their own! Very nice family owned farm thats not overly commercial or busy so its a nice afternoon location to take faimly to without that added stress.”

“Very nice experience. Feilds were full of berries. Rows are super clean and neat. Raised rows maje for easy picking with my bad back. I would have kept picking but we filled four buckets in 20 minutes. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Can't say enough about how impressive this place is. We will be back.”

“If you're indecisive about going, this is your sign to go! The strawberries were so sweet and from what I could see they dont use excessive pesticides which made me so happy. The berries were also extremely clean, I barely had to wash them at home! It makes a great trip and the people running it were very nice 🙂”

“Beginning of the season, well marked rows of different varieties. You get the buckets their and it's $15 to fill, if you bring the bucket back you save .50 next time. There's also plants in the greenhouses Such a nice day to go pick strawberries and can't wait to eat them 😁”

“It’s a lovely place to visit with the family and enjoy picking whatever is in season. The strawberries weren’t very sweet, but they looked good, and the onions and lettuce were delicious — fresh and crispy. When I visited, there was also an ice cream truck. I didn’t notice any bathrooms nearby, though. The prices might be a bit higher compared to supermarket promotions, but I would still go back because it’s a wonderful experience to be in touch with nature. They accept both cash and cards, and there’s parking available.”
