“What a spectacular experience. While I have been before my elderly parents had not but both had expressed interest in seeing the tulips. 🌷 There social media post was informative letting me know tickets had gone on sale and that was a smooth process getting tickets. They even sent a reminder email of things to know the night before our ticketed day. Parking was adequate and the line to get checked in moved quickly. Once checked in you grabbed a basket for your flowers and you could either walk to the fields or take a wagon ride which has two drop off spots. Each ticket included picking 5 tulips and each additional tulip was $1.00. The colors were spectacular and they had photo stops throughout the fields. Katherine was most accommodating as my mother had limited mobility and took them on a gator to the fields. They had a variety of food vendors, farm animals, a jump pad for kids and a wonderful gift shop with neat items for purchase. Definitely a family outing worth every moment to make memories and take photos. It's ranked #8 inUSA and you feel like you are in Holland.”

“I recently visited Burnside Farm with a friend for tulip picking, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The scenery was absolutely beautiful—rows of vibrant tulips stretching as far as you could see, creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxing day outdoors. The fresh, open air made it feel incredibly refreshing, and it was such a peaceful break from the usual routine. The entire atmosphere was positive and uplifting, with plenty of space to walk around, take photos, and just enjoy the moment. It’s the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood. I’d highly recommend Burnside Farm to anyone looking for a fun, scenic, and refreshing outing—definitely a memorable experience!”

“Absolutely LOVED THIS PLACE! The tulips are gorgeous, and I had so much fun picking them. They also have other items for sale, like local canned items (think pickled quail eggs, jams, and preserves), hats, pens, stuffed animals, and more. Can't wait to go back for their sunflower picking in the summer! Parking was ample, but we went on Easter Sunday while it was raining, so it wasn't as busy as it could have been. You can reschedule to another available date/time prior to your scheduled date, but we didn't check for that until too late, and we're glad we didn't.”

“If you want to see a little slice of the Netherlands right here in Virginia, this is the place! The tulip fields are massive, well-maintained, and incredibly photogenic. Admission comes with 5 stems you can pick yourself, which is a lovely touch. The whole operation is well-organized, with great amenities and a fun play area for kids. Just remember that it's a real farm, so the terrain can be uneven and muddy after spring rains—dress appropriately! A wonderful way to welcome spring.”

“Burnside Farms is an amazing experience. The Spring Festival is my favorite! Seeing all the tulips fields is bloom is incredible. The staff is also really fantastic. I have not had any interaction with a staff member that was not lovely. In particular Leland was truly exceptional when we visited earlier this week. He was very friendly and outgoing interacting with the guests while waiting at the tractor stops!”

“Burnside Farms has been unique seasonal experience for the sunflowers and now the tulips. Overall, our experience was fine! They have field parking available (park yourself in rows in the grass) - this sometimes leads to poor parking by other patrons. But overall, no problems. Staff were friendly upon arrival when asking to see our tickets. When our tickets were scanned we were asked if we’d been here before and we responded “yes”, the worker then said “great, enjoy” and moved on to calling the next customers to check in. We were a little thrown, because while we HAD been before, it wasn’t for tulips and we didn’t know the process/cost. (Sunflowers they gave cutters, it didn’t appear that we needed for tulips) so we were generally confused and had to seek some assistance from another worker. Staff were all kind throughout our interactions. I didn’t note (may have missed) a warning to be prepared for lots of dust. It was windy and with the tram kicking up as it moved, dust was blowing everywhere so it was a bit uncomfortable at times. Overall we would return as it was a different type of experience.”

“I’ve been to both the tulip and sunflower seasons at Burnside Farms, and it’s one of my favorite local spots to visit. I really love supporting a local farm like this, and you can tell how much care goes into everything they do. Of course, like any farm, some years are better than others. The tulips and sunflowers can vary depending on the weather, sometimes they’re taller, sometimes fuller, but that’s all part of the experience. I’ve been lucky that every time I’ve gone, including this year, the weather has been perfect. I visited last week for the tulips and it was absolutely beautiful. I know there are years with more rain, and they stay open rain or shine, so just plan accordingly. It’s also easily one of the most popular spots for photographers in the spring, for good reason.”

“Overall average experience. It was quick to get in, there were about 4 to 5 people to check the tickets. The free ride was not that great. They had a Michael Jackson tribute performance by a solo dancer. The performer was pretty good, but the stage and overall setup wasn't that great. So, it's a descent one time experience for a family. Live music can really enhance the experience.”
