What you can pick

In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Missouri, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Missouri.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“This place is so rustic and cute! There are four fields for picking blueberries, or you can buy pre-picked blueberries. We were given a lined bucket to place our blueberries in, the whole bucket holds about 5 pounds. Within the farm grounds are benches, rocking chairs, rustic lawn chairs and picnic tables to rest at. There is a flush restroom with an adorable outdoor hand washing station. Also, they have playground equipment for the kiddos to play on. When you're finished picking your blueberries, you head inside where the blueberries are weighed and you are charged per pound. Also available is DELICIOUS frozen blueberry lemonade, blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes and sausage, locally made honey and hand made candles. The people running the farm were so friendly and helpful! We can't wait to go back!”

“A perfect morning of picking at Burton Farms! The owners were very kind and welcoming and pointed out where to get the good berries. They have a good variety of berries and even places to pick that are a bit more shady. After we picked blueberries, we picked flowers and got muffins, fried pies and frozen lemonade. The frozen lemonade was not too tart or sweet: it was spot on. The muffins were so good, but our favorite was the fried pies! It was a bit of a cross between a donut, a beignet and a hot pie. The farm also has an amazing atmosphere. Very shabby chic but so clean and organized. It is so picturesque and would be great for a family or friend outing. We will be back!”

“Wonderful family run business. It is nice to see polite children helping out. They offer freshly made blueberry treats like muffins, juice, pies and more. The bushes are loaded with berries and there are plenty of bushes.”

“My family loves this blueberry farm. The kids love to pick your own berries and my girls love the you pick fresh flowers. A blueberry lemonade is one of the highlights of the trip and they serve blueberry pancakes.”
