Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New Hampshire.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I absolutely love this place!!! It is so clean, beautiful, and has amazing fruit selection. I've been suggesting this place to everyone I know! They have goats and peacocks/hen, so many fruit varieties. Numerous choices for cherries, peaches, apples, blueberries, strawberries, and a few others! Can't wait to check out the apples this year! The fruit is also in excellent shape! On top of everything, they offer hard cidar, wine, donuts, small treats, ice cream, large wagons, ladders available for customers near the fruit trees and fair prices! I honestly have to say, it's the most well maintained fruit farm I have been to! Great work guys!! *Great spot for family day!!!”

“This farm, located in Farmington, New Hampshire, is our absolute favorite. It offers fruits for every season, beginning with strawberries, blueberries, peaches, pumpkins, and apples. A typical visit usually lasts 2-3 hours. One delightful feature is the opportunity to taste and purchase ciders, but the real highlight is the hot and delicious donuts they serve. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and there's ample parking available, including overflow parking when needed. We have a deep affection for this place, and it's apparent that it's a family-owned operation. Their passion for farming shines through in the way they run this wonderful establishment.”

“If you are looking to pick your own fruit in a beautiful setting, then look no further. Butternut has it all and more. The owners are the nicest people and will even stop by my house to kindly remind me that it's past time to have pruned my own peach trees. Prices are great for the best tasting, freshest fruit around. The farm is well managed and the cider house is definitely worth a visit while you're there. I recommend trying some of everything.”

“Had more types of apples than I even knew existed. Was easy to get into and out of the parking lot. Got a little less than 20 lbs for under 20 dollars so the prices are reasonable. We had warm cider donuts and cold apple cider and both were delicious. We also picked up a jar of peach jam and strawberry jam. Opened the peach so far and it's absolutely incredible”

“Beautiful farm! We had a wonderful time with our grownup kids and the babies. They have wagons that are a big help to pull the babies along. And we couldn't leave without getting some really yummy apple cider donuts warm and crispy on the outside. What a great time!”

“Such a lovely farm! We went to pick peaches and blueberries!! Plenty of parking, lots of fruit ripe for picking! Really delicious cidar donuts and everyone was so kind and friendly!! Loved it!!! Definitely will come back for apple picking!”

“This is my favorite orchard to go to. The apples are my favorite. Also they have my favorite donuts and cider. They have goats that are so cute too!”

“Lovely little local farm I always enjoy visiting for different pick-your-own seasonal fruits.”
