Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Maryland.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Payment notes on file: American Express, Discover, Mastercard, VISA. Cash still helps at smaller stands.

“I had a wonderful visit to Catoctin Mountain Orchard! The apples were absolutely beautiful. They were fresh, crisp, and perfectly displayed. The scenic mountain views made the whole experience even more special, especially on a clear day. There’s also a great selection of food to enjoy while you’re there, so it’s easy to make a full outing of it. The country store is charming and full of delicious treats, especially the pumpkin pie and apple pie, both tasted homemade and incredibly flavorful. The pies are baked fresh too! The tractor ride was a highlight, adding a fun and relaxing touch to the visit. Overall, it’s a perfect place for families, friends, or anyone looking for a classic fall experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!”

“Me and my family stopped because we had a hankering for apple pie, which was satisfying and then some! Their preserves, ciders, and other baked goods are so delicious and fresh! The flower fields were so picturesque! Lastly, my kids LOVED the playground up the hill from the storefront. Several climbing structures, swings, and slides. Plus a gazebo for the parents to take a seat and relax while the kids burn off some energy. This was a great pit stop during our camping trip at Cunningham Falls State Park. 100% recommend!”

“Love this place!!! I've been here numerous times. They have a new retail greenhouse, but I wait for the Saturdays when they open all the greenhouses to the public. They have SO much to choose from. It can be a little overwhelming. The prices are great and the selection is amazing. I make time for a trip here every spring. I can get all the flowers I need to decorate my yard and deck. Make sure you get one of their big carts. You're gonna need it!!!😃”

“Great selection of seasonal produce, baked goods and other sundries. The you-pick flower is a great deal- beautiful stems to choose from in mid-August with a nice play area for kids right next to one of the cutting areas. You can fit a ton of stems in the cup if you remove the lower foliage from them as you go.”

“So today was my very first time there and I was amazed. I brought soap, jam, watermelon and apple twist candy (VERY nostalgic), A HUGE cabbage and white peaches (juicy but not sweet... Taste like nothing) I picked my own flowers which made me Happy..... Going back in 2 weeks”

“Beautiful Farmer's Market with local foods and jams. Excellent food, I've been coming here since I was in middle school and can say this place never disappoints.”

“Awesome country store! Outside they have seasonal apple picking and flower picking. Beautiful view Lots of cool homemade baking and produce! Great holiday feel! A bit overpriced but still worth it!”

“I've never had a problem in the many years I've been getting produce here. I stopped last week and got some delicious, homegrown, local strawberries. I stopped today and got two more quarts...And they are hot house strawberries. White in the middle. And half of them on the bottom were rotten and even had mold. For $10 a quart ....berries could have gotten from the grocery store for $2.99. They should at least advertise that these are NOT local berries anymore. Driscoll's at best. I understand strawberry season is short but don't use hothouse berries to try and get over on people. I've been getting local berries my entire life and I know the difference.”
