Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in South Carolina.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Absolutely a great family outing. We have never picked fruit before ever, so it was definitely a learning experience but we enjoyed it so much! We were able to pick so many fresh berries, we had enough to eat for days. They were perfect, not too sweet and pretty firm but not too hard or soft. There were also local products for sale that looked really good. They have a new kid’s area opening that looks like so much fun. We hope to make it back to pick more fruit and see the new area.”

“Had a wonderful time at Cottle Strawberry Farm! I love that their big playground is thoughtfully set up with different spots where kids can explore, play, and just be kids. There was always something to keep them engaged and it was never felt overcrowded or chaotic. The mega slides was one of our favorites! The staff were also friendly, accommodating and so patient with our big group of kids. Definitely a great place for families and school field trips!”

“We went to Cottle Strawberry Farm for the first time and had such a great experience! It was $20 to fill a bucket, which felt totally worth it for how much fun we had and how full our bucket was.The strawberries were beautiful, and the whole experience was just really enjoyable. The ladies at the checkout were friendly and helpful. We had a great time and will be back soon. Definitely recommending to friends!🍓”

“First time visiting the Cottle Strawberry Farm since they moved to their new location, it was $72 for two adults, a 5yo and a 2yo, which seemed quite high to me, but they had a ton of different things, playgrounds and activities for the kids. My kiddos really loved all there was to do, especially the mega slide. After a few hours of fun we went and got a few strawberries prepicked, and they are so delicious.”

“We had the best time strawberry picking here! 🍓 It was so much fun, the strawberries were fresh and plentiful, and the prices were great. The whole experience was easy, family-friendly, and something we’ll definitely be coming back for. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun outing with amazing strawberries! ☀️”

“What a fun little adventure! The ladies at farm stand were so sweet and explained everything very well. It was fun visiting with them!! We decided to pick strawberries, very reasonably priced. The strawberries were amazing!! If you have time stop by, you will not be disappointed.”

“Had a great time at the pumpkin patch. Its more hands on than I expected, with a lot of playground type games and a lot of static play areas. 3yo and 9 yo had a blast”

“A cute open air, roadside stand with fresh produce. We box a box of strawberries and they tasted great. You are also able to pick your own strawberries.”
