Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Pennsylvania.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I sat on my couch today and took a slice of apple... The flavor took me back to my childhood. "Mmmmm ... That's a good apple." When that's what you think.... And I'm not the only one; I've heard multiple people say it with surprise.... Yes- surprise. When that's what you think from a room temperature apple casually picked up and eaten.... Well, that's a great orchard. You can get number ones or some number twos for applesauce, apple cider, and there's usually an apple cider donut as well as some jam varieties.... Ahhhh .... It's autumn again. Time to enjoy the apples the way they're meant to be enjoyed. From a family who puts their heart into it. Do you think that's what makes them taste so good? Oh .... And enjoy the sunshine colors of the mums.... You can even take some of that sunshine home with you. Did I forget my favorite part? I like the descriptions of the apples.... So I have an idea of what flavor I'm buying even if by the time I get home I forget because I bought four or five varieties, depending on how late in the season I made it to the orchard. A few new varieties coming in the second half of this month..... Enjoy!”

“Once again and still standing as the best blueberries I've ever had. Their cherries and peaches are delicious. They carry my favorite apple juice as well from another local orchard. It's about an hour to get there from my house and well worth the drive. It's beautiful and scenic along the way. Maybe one day I'll try the pick it yourself option but every time I go I usually see one or more families heading into the orchard to have fun picking their own fruit. This is my second visit in about 3 weeks and I expect I'll be there several times more before the season is done.”

“We really enjoy blueberry picking at County Line Orchard! It really is better to go early in the season (early July) than later. It is easy to find really good berries, but I don't think anyone would fault you for tasting a few just to be sure. I believe that they also have cherry picking as well, though we just bought a quart. We also got some plums and their own apple juice. We're looking forward to the apricots!”

“Prices are very reasonable, staff are friendly and clear, multiple available varieties of apples (all were delicious and in great condition), beautiful landscape and view while you pick your own. Not inundated with massive amounts of people (Friday morning). Really enjoyable quiet morning.”

“We drive down for pick your own blueberries and again for pick your own apples. The blueberries this year are abundant and very sweet. All of the fruits and produce they offer are very flavorful, and very well priced. The family that owns the orchard is very kind, as well.”

“Had a fun time picking Goldrush apples here. They are delicious! They also have cider and many other varieties of apples as well as pumpkins and gourds.”

“This is a great little orchard where you can either pick your own apples or buy apples, pears, cider and other items at their stand.”

“We couldn’t pick apples this time of year but we swung by to get cider, apples, and honey. Very tasty apples!”
