Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Dakota.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“15 minutes loading time”
“The only reason I'm giving a 4 star is because it is a Typical potato farm. So I'm sitting here at the potato field "3885 34th st. SE Tappen ND" waiting to get loaded and I seeing all these truck drivers cutting the line and making the drivers that should be in front of them wait longer and it's not the loaders fault I don't know why the other drivers a leaving negative reviews this is my first time here and so far is has been good”
