Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Pennsylvania.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I have been trying to find Jonathan apples with no luck (I live in South Carolina). Jonathan apples have been a tradition for Thanksgiving pies in my family- my grandmother and mother both use(d) them and I do to. I hunted all around SC for them. Went to North Carolina. Called places I'm Georgia, Virginia, Michigan, and Indiana. Finally I called here. They had the Jonathans. They packed them up and shipped them clear down here for me. I was amazed at how fast they arrived, and that they didn't get smashed up coming all the way down here. They saved my Thanksgiving apple pie!”

“Dawson’s has a great selection of super tasty apples! I get them delivered almost year round from my Harvie box. Great quality and it’s nice to be able to easily support such a wonderful local producer. Gala, McIntosh, golden delicious and Fuji apples are among the more well known varieties they carry, but it’s worth checking out anything they carry.”

“Yesterday took a ride to Dawson’s Orchards for some fantastic fruit. I had a honey crisp apple for lunch and one of the juiciest peach for breakfast. Dawson’s never fails to come through. Only wish we lived closer.”

“The apples here are bigger than your fist! Delicious, too. Nice variety of apples all bagged up and ready for purchase. Can't wait to get back home to NC to bake some pies!”

“More expensive than the grocery store. $14 a bushel down in Grantville. People are more respectful there too. I wasn't going to give you a review until she looked at me like she knew. Ough no and I'm pretty sure my peaches were not ripe when they picked them. Just an observation as I sit here telling myself, I knew better ! BTW they were not ripe. Just got soft enough to eat but they are rotten. Don't come here. Wish someone told us this before we came to Dawson's Orchards.”
