Deep Spring Farm

“We had the pleasure of picking blueberries at Deep Spring Farm in June 2015. We picked 1.5 gallons in less than an hour in the morning amongst a bunch of cheery people. The owners were quite gracious and helpful when we got there (and before, on the phone). The bushes are beautiful, the berries delicious, and I managed to share ours with five other households and still have lots and lots. I've always been a blackberry lover, but these blueberries might just be my new fave. I've been eating them chilled, carrying the from room to room in a little bowl on a hot day, and it makes me really glad to be in an area that supports this kind of venture. Exquisite flavor, not too much heat if you go in the morning, really pleasant people. Deep Spring Farm is sure to be a favorite of mine for a long time.”

“I had the pleasure of meeting Leela who graciously gave me a tour of the property. You can tell a labor of love has been poured into the property making it beautiful and relaxing. The property offers several options for a wedding ceremony setting. Leela shared with me several projects in the works which will only make the property more awesome for hosting weddings and events. “This Wednesday we will be picking blueberries at DSF for the 3rd time this season. The blueberries are sweet, plumb and plentiful. Leela and Michael are very welcoming and provide everything you need and when you no longer care to pick blueberries there is the the farm itself which is beautiful. There are gardens, large oak trees, shaded picnic areas and a spring fed pond when you need to cool off. Even the bathrooms are clean and very pleasant...no Porta Potties here! “Deep Springs Farm is a beautiful organic farm nestled in the heart of Alachua. Leela was very kind, honest and willing to share her knowledge with me throughout my visit. The area is very natural, quiet and well maintained. It is evident that both Leela and Michael have poured their all into making Deep Springs Farm a place where you can connect with both nature and yourself. “We had such a good time here! This is a super special gem. Farmers Leela and Michael have put so much attention into the details, the soil, the species, conservation and beauty and it shows. We went swimming and the water was lovely, such a great way to end the morning. We have a 2.5 year old toddler and had a blast! There are many guidelines for how to pick to help maintain the health of the bushes and the ecosystem but they were easy to follow.”

“Amazing relaxing place to pick organic blueberries . Raised with love and care by Leela and Michael, great couple. Inventive great way to pick gallon jugs with strap , or you can bring your own container. Also cut your own lovely colorful flowers and fresh veggies in season to buy. Can't beat it such a beautiful farm to Gorgeous Spring fed ponds. Great place to bring and enjoy a picnic lunch if you have time . Beautiful and relaxing.”

“Beautiful location, heavenly berries, kind people = A perfect Saturday morning. Their berries tend to ripen late in the season compared to other local farms, so if you're reading this review end of May through early July, you're in luck - they have berries. Contact them to schedule your picking!”

“Awesome organic compliant farm. We went to pick blueberries and they were beautiful and tasty. Ate a picnic lunch by the spring and it was so peaceful. Leela and company were friendly and extremely helpful! Planning on going again before their season is over.”
