“We visited Farmer and Frenchman on February 27 and had the best meal! We live near Lexington so I don’t get that way very often. My niece was celebrating her 50th birthday, our great nephew was celebrating his 20th birthday and we just had a big ole party here! We all got different meals so we were eating off each other’s plates and it truly was a great experience. And omgosh! The cheesecake! We got 2 different pieces of cheesecake and ate on them all weekend. My husband and I arrived early and did a wine tasting and our bartender ending up being our server and she was outstanding. The whole experience was wonderful and we will definitely be back when we are in that area!”

“My daughter & I enjoyed a mushroom growing class followed by a wine sampling and dinner. This winery is small and intimate and we enjoyed ourselves. That being said, the chairs at the bar/wine sampling area were not the most comfortable. Wine service was a little slow and the tasting was disorganized at best. However, we loved the mushrooms and all our dishes! We will definitely make the trip from New Harmony in the near future.”

“We have enjoyed lunches and dinners at the Farmer and Frenchman many times. For our 55th anniversary, we thought it would be fun to spend the night in one of their 3 cabins. We were not disappointed, the staff was wonderful and really went out of their way to make our stay special. The cake was excellent. If you stay, the $15 breakfast is a must. The following morning, we were greeted by the friendly resident kitty.”

“We enjoyed a late lunch while seated on the patio overlooking the beautiful countryside. The waitstaff was timely and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. The food was easily the best we had while we were in the area for a week. Farmer and Frenchman reminded me of Tuscany with its connection to local history, farm to table vibe and a scenic view. Highly, highly recommend!”

“We love going here for our anniversary every year. The wine they make from their own grapes is very affordable and delicious, and the food is amazing. The views are marvelous. Service attentive. My only complaint is that they took their caprese sandwich off the menu, which was my favorite.”

“My wife and I recently hosted our wedding reception at F&F, as well as staying in a cabin onsite, and everything was perfect. The venue is gorgeous and Shelby/staff were helpful throughout the entire process!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a special occasion venue.”

“The food was absolutely delicious. Service was wonderful. I had lasagna. It was delicious and plenty to eat. My brother had the roasted beef and pasta, also very delicious and plenty to eat. I had a nice Merlot with my meal. Highly recommend this place.”

“My daughter's wedding reception, which took place on April 25th at the Barczewski/Wathen venue, was a memorable event, but unfortunately, the food quality did not meet our expectations. Having dined at the restaurant on multiple occasions and experienced exceptional cuisine, we were looking forward to a similar level of quality on the wedding day. However, the brunch buffet served during the reception was a letdown. Despite the outstanding service and food we had previously experienced, the waffles and quiche were cold, and the strawberry wedding cake was hard and cold. The only satisfactory aspects of the buffet were the fruit and chicken. Given the significant investment of over $6,000 in the reception, we were disappointed by the subpar food quality. It is worth noting that several guests shared similar sentiments, and the fact that there were substantial leftovers from the buffet, which was intended for 90 guests, speaks volumes about the overall dissatisfaction with the cuisine.”
