What you can pick
In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Ontario, not a guarantee for this exact farm.
Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Ontario.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We just bought strawberries and wow! When the young man brought us our flat of berries it looked like a picture in a magazine. The berries were all the same perfect ripeness and not a bad one in the whole flat. This is where we get our berries (and other fruit as it comes into season) from now on. They were absolutely delicious...bursting with flavour!”

“This is our second year going to Fenwick Farms. Bought 3 flats of strawberries, and brought them back to Northern Ontario. They are so juicy and sweet...never disappoint! Amazing berries...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Price is VERY reasonable.”

“Great pick your own strawberry 🍓 farm. Great price at $12/3 quarts. Strawberries are sweet and I never get sick eating without wash.unlike other farms deliberately spray so people wouldn't eat.Friendly staff.”

“good place for strawberry lovers. There are three types of baskets available, it's up to you to choose $4, $8, $12 each. The girls there are very friendly. Also, the route is very beautiful”

“I went to their stand at Ancaster farmers market and the older woman was quite rude to me that day. I was purchasing some items and I was taking a look at the nectarines and gently touching them. She proceeds to tell me that if I “squeeze” them (which I wasn’t) I would ruin them by leaving fingerprints when they ripen. I apologized sincerely as I did not know this and picked up a basket to add to my purchases and she just gave me a dirty look and ignored me. A man checked me out without any sort of exceptional kindness to make up for her rude behaviour. I have shopped at their stand other times and I like their produce but I have been turned off due to this experience and will no longer support this particular stand at the market.”

“Amazing strawberries, quite literally my favourite in Ontario. Strawberry picking is great, very simple. Two stars for the picked strawberries though. Out of two quarts, more than half a quart is straight garbage. It sucks, I paid a premium price for these strawberries, the good ones are amazing though.”

“I bought a quart of this farm’s strawberries (with their sticker on the box) at a local grocer. The grocer itself is a long-time owned and well-respected family owned business with a reputation for fresh fruit and vegetables. The quart had about six or seven larger berries on the top. They looked good, actually. Underneath, I was shocked, most were the size of a dime (literally). I then threw out about 25% which were mouldy or rotten. Gross and very deceptive! I’ll make sure I never buy a product with these shysters’ label on it again!”
