Five Cousins Strawberry Patch

“I called the day before and Will suggested to call the morning of so he would confirm if they had enough strawberries before we headed over. We took our kids to this strawberry patch and Will so kindly gave us directions to their other plantation at Three Amigos. The owners/staff at Three Amigos were also very nice and helpul. Mike walked us out to the field, kindly explained the diferent strawberries to pick from. The kids had so much fun eating and picking their own favorite fruit! Every guesture made a difference, we hope to be back soon! What a wonderful experience as a family! Thank you all!!”

“On a whim we decided to look up where we could go berry picking. By chance we chose Cousins. I called Mike and it was like talking to an old friend. He gave great directions and had someone meet us out front and show us to the barn where we got our baskets and scissors. My 2 year old son had so much fun! He judged each strawberry carefully before placing them in his basket, there was a lot of taste testing in between. The 2 younger girls working were so sweet and informative about the different kinds of strawberries. We will definitely be coming back for more!”

They encouraged sampling so you could pick the ones you liked best! The berries were huge and sweet! I hope I can eat them all - each one was prettier and more tempting than the last, so I probably over-picked. Can't wait to go back!”

“My husband and I went to pick strawberries this morning, and we had the best experience. The gentleman there was very warm and welcoming. He even encouraged us to try the strawberries and assured us we wouldn’t be disappointed. He was right! We ended up picking and bringing home almost 8 pounds. We are definitely planning on returning and making this a yearly tradition.”

“We recently moved to San Antonio and were looking for a fun strawberry-picking place to enjoy as a family. I chose this farm because the website shared that the owner is a grandfather of three and that the farm helps support his grandchildren’s college tuition. As an educator, that really touched me, and it made me want to support his business. At first, everything went smoothly. We received our basket and were given instructions on how to pick the strawberries. However, after about five minutes, the owner called me over and said, “People are here to pick strawberries and pay for them, not eat three pounds and pay for one pound.” I was honestly shocked by the way this was addressed. We were there as a family outing with two small children, ages 4 and 7. It is very difficult to expect young children not to taste a few strawberries while picking. I even offered to pay extra and told him that if we picked 4 pounds, I would gladly pay for 8 pounds. That was never the issue for me. The issue was the rude and accusatory way he spoke to us. If he had approached me kindly and simply explained his concern, I would have been more than happy to pay more. Instead, the interaction made us feel unwelcome, and after driving four hours to visit the farm, it was very disappointing. We decided to leave and go somewhere else. I still paid $24 for the strawberries we had picked, and I had even wanted to leave a $20 tip, but there was no option to do so. I truly hope the owner can improve the way he communicates with families. Farms like this should feel welcoming and enjoyable, especially for parents with young children. This had the potential to be a wonderful family memory, but unfortunately it turned into a very uncomfortable experience.”
