Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Georgia.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Franklin's Farm is a wonderful local resource for Statesboro and the surrounding counties, and if you haven't been out here yet, you are missing out! We had the best time at the Strawberry You-Pick this weekend. The kind of experience that slows everything down and reminds you why these local spots matter so much. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely welcome. Friendly, helpful, and clearly proud of what they're doing out there. That energy is contagious. The produce speaks for itself. Fresh, high quality, and grown right here locally. There is something genuinely powerful about knowing exactly where your food comes from. Not a distribution center three states away, but actual land you can stand on and see. That connection is rare and worth protecting. Supporting local farmers isn't just good for your family's table, it's good for this whole community. Franklin's Farm makes it easy and enjoyable to do exactly that. We will absolutely be back, and I'd encourage anyone in the area to make the trip. You won't regret it!”

“Love we have local farmers here in the Boro and knowing where food comes from is big for me. Fresh Farm eggs, local honey/jams/syrup/milk, cabbage, potatoes, tomatoes & veggies & more veggies-it changes thru the yr, late fall is sweet potatoes/Citrus!! Berries in Spring. Melons in summer. Plants, starter trees. They take cash & card. My favorite place to shop for years and always find something wonderful to put on table. Even have stuff you could do a basket to give on special day. just wonderful and am so thankful they are there, easy to find to.”

“Came from an hour away to pick strawberries since it wasn’t peach season just yet. We were given an empty basket and instructed where to pick from. It was rather sunny that morning so we tried to hurry up and fill our basket. It was fun being the only people there and seeing all the different sizes of strawberries. We came back and did some shopping around the stands for fresh produce and honey. Will be coming back for peach season for sure.”

“Had a great time berry picking! The kids loved it! If you go again, you can bring the basket you bought and get $1 off. You pay up front and go picking to the left of the stand. We go to meet thier little farm dog too after picking and sitting on the benches at the end of the rows. Alllsooooo had a travel cart for the little- the dirt was a bit of a struggle down the rows- but totally worth having”

“This is a great family owned produce market. Easily accessed from the high. They grow some of their own produce. They had an excellent sunflower and okra harvest. They had all kinds of other produce, oils, local honey, soaps ect; it is a great little place to visit and the prices are comparable to other markets.”

“This is a great place to buy fresh farm to market produce. Plenty of parking. Very friendly staff to help you with any questions. They also have several items for sale made right here in Georgia.”

“We recently went strawberry picking and it was great! I also bought a bell pepper plant and it has grown tremendously! Will be back for more plants!”

“It's a very small place, but it was a fun stop. We did not pick our own strawberries sadly, but we did get to watch some people do it. It's right off the highway and it has a small kids area. I can't say I absolutely loved the strawberries, they were on the same level of Walmart, but they looked better, and were a little more expensive.”
