Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Idaho.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“It was fun to pick the cherries 🍒 ourselves. They are all at arms lenth. We got a little carried away and picked too many cherries. My mom ended up making a few cherry pies. The staff was great. It was a fun time on our vacation from California. The Facebook post says to wear good shoes and bug spray. I didn't do either, and the staff offered us bug spray just in case. I didn't see or feel any mosquitoes. They offer a different variation of cherries each week. I had no idea there were so many different types of cherries.”

“This orchard is one of the BEST orchards I’ve ever been to! It’s very well kept, clean and because they took care of their property so well, it doesn’t really have any mosquitos as other places in Emmett; in fact I didn’t even get bite at all. The cherries are so delicious and because it’s a dwarf cherry tree, you don’t need any ladder and even kids can easily enjoy picking them! The family that owns/works there are so kind and friendly which literally is a cherry on top 🍒HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”
