A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New York.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We’ve visited many pick-your-own farms over the years and recently planned to try a new one. Unfortunately, when we called ahead, we were told they were already out of strawberries—what a surprise! So, we searched for another option and found Glover Farm, which turned out to be a great decision. It was actually closer than our original choice and had a charming, family-friendly vibe. One of the best parts? They have a fun playground area that kept the kids entertained after picking. If you’re bringing a child under two years old, admission is free, which is a nice bonus for families with toddlers. For everyone else, you’re required to purchase at least one quart of strawberries for $9 to enter the fields. We didn’t just leave with fresh strawberries—we also picked up a jar of local honey and a delicious strawberry pie from their small market stand. Both were absolutely amazing and made the trip even more worthwhile. If you're looking for a low-key, family-friendly outing with sweet rewards, Glover Farm is definitely worth checking out. We’ll be keeping this one on our list for future visits!”

“This was my first pumpkin patch experience, so I really can't compare it to anything. But they had lots of pumpkins in a variety of sizes and colors available up front for easy selection or for picking in the field. They also had lots of other farm goods available for purchase. Plus they had a corn maze, playground, picnic tables, hay rides, and etc for the kiddos. A very cute place with friendly folks running it. I will definitely be returning! Our 2 large pumpkins, 4 small/medium pumpkins, and 3 mini-sized baby pumpkins cost $45 total. Not bad! You pay by weight. :)”

“Always fun to bring the whole family to pick pumpkins! Beautiful sunflowers and fresh pies! The goats! Live the goats chickens and ducks! One poor goat was very sticky looking, also very old. Sweet thing had a bandage that desperately needed changing on his right front leg. Staff notified by us and several other visitors.”

“Small field but plenty of ripe strawberries. Current pricing is $9 per qt. $33 for 4 qt. Strawberry Juice, Lemonade and pies along with other treats for sale. A couple of goats in their pen. Picnic tables, wash stations and porta potty on site. Get there early it gets busy fast. Spent about an hour picking, not as easy as I thought it would be but worth the short trip.”

“Nice big farm for pumpkin picking and related activities. Play area for kids, plus hay rides. There is a shop near the entrance with fresh pies, jams and honey. And nice people to answer any questions. Great place to bring kids. Or stop off to stretch during a long drive.”

“If the berries looked like this last year, I would not have come back this year. Last year, there was an abundance of big, beautiful, sweet strawberries. This year they were small, there were few, though I did manage to fill a large basket. Still tasty and I'm just using them to make jam, so it doesn't really matter. But still disappointing. I wonder what happened 🤷♀️. I will go back next year and see how it goes.”

“Pick your own strawberries are $9 a quart, $17 for 2 quartz which is pretty expensive but justifiable if the farm actually had decent strawberries to pick. These were some of the smallest strawberries i've ever seen and after going home and washing them, they were not sweet at all. Overall, very disappointing compared to other farms in Jersey where the strawberries were very big.”
