Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Hawks Pumpkin Patch is FABULOUS! We had previously come here for pumpkins later in the season (just a few days before Halloween) and they had very few pumpkins. But if you come here earlier in the fall season, you are in luck because they have a wide and gorgeous assortment of pumpkins! You can get your classic orange pumpkins that are perfect for carving into Jack 'O Lanterns or they have more heirloom pumpkins if you want some to decorate your porch. They also sell candy, apple cider, bags of apples, apple butter, and decorative, colorful corn! On the weekends, you can expect to see several food or coffee trucks on site. Great spot to bring the whole family and pick out a pumpkin!”

“Free Parking! This is exactly what my family and I were looking for a nice sized pumpkin patch with other goodies too like ice cream and funnel cakes! Also many other types of pumpkins and gourds, along with apples and things. I love the photo op areas with wagons, corn teepee and hay bales! Pumpkins are priced by size they have marked on the table when you check out and they do accept credit cards! We got two very large pumpkins and a small white one and a few of the $1.50 ones at check out we spent a total of$44.00 so it’s not a bad price. They don’t have a bathroom but a porta-potty”

I was also pleasantly surprised to find some Stayman Winesap apples here! They also sell Christmas trees during the winter and have other photo ops available then. Can’t wait to come back!”
