Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New Hampshire.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I’ve been trying to find some lesser known and/or populated orchards this year and stumbled upon Hazelton Orchards thanks to google maps. This place is simple and straightforward (signs denote apple types that are ready to pick) with numerous varieties of apples and peaches. The young woman working was SUPER sweet and helpful. It was $35 for a half peck and I think we walked away with close to 35 apples so not terrible. There is a farm store at the bottom of the road with a few items but, overall, it is a no frills kind of place. I was a little devastated they didn’t sell cider donuts but we made a stop at Memories Ice Cream on the way home to satiate our sweet tooth 🍦”

“I drive by this place every day and this fall I finally stopped by to do some apple picking with the best apples I have ever eaten. The man telling me about the apples was super friendly and overall loves his job. I also stocked up on some of the jelly and jams. Absolutely delicious! Can't wait to go back!”

“Great place to get peaches, fruits, vegetables and assorted farm confections. Home made Apple crisp, Apples pies and others. There peaches and nectarines are award winning with the State. Nice warm welcome as you view in house. I highly recommended place to go. Make it your weekly pits stop.”

“Hazelton Orchards is farmed by a several generation Chester Family. They main grow a wide variety of Apples, fresh-press cider, pumpkins, corn and several types of squash. They are open until Thanksgiving. Load up on late season produce, they are well worth driving a bit-out-of-the-way...”

“Very nice people and clearly marked areas for picking. Very informative about what is best for what recipes etc. Highly recommend.”

“Great fruits and veggies and some nice little gifts. Very welcoming. Great apple cider..”

“Nice place to pick apples. Good variety. Price is to market at $18.50 for one peck or $28.50 for the bushel bag. I leave it to you to decide if that's in your range.”

“Very large orchard! Beautiful grounds, kept very nicely. A small peck was $20 which I thought was pretty expensive. But everything is that way now. They told us to only pick from the trees that had ribbons on them, as those were ready. I made sure to FILL my bag considering the price! I have a suggestion for the owners: maybe put the names of the apples on signs on each row. Most people like to know the kinds of apples. :)”
