Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Alabama.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“We loved our experience here. There were a few hiccups with the number of pumpkins they had, but this was their first year doing this and tgey underestimated how popular it would be. Many people had to return the next day for a pumpkin, but the people were great to allow families back in to get their pumpkins. The extra activities were fun and many were included in the cost of the admission. The tractor/trailor ride and pumpkin with admission cost $10 per person. I thought it was a great deal and a fun experience for our kids. Our favorite parts included the corn pit and pipe slides. Fun for the parents too.”

“We had a fantastic time at helena hollow for my daughter's third birthday on august 3rd. The barn was cooler than I expected and the kids loved the petting zoo, I thought it was only going to be a few animals in a barn but it was a whole little path of animals. It was super cute and fun. I just wish the website had let us know we were going to have a helper to unload and help clean up. That would have been great to know about ahead of time so I could have prepared a tip for her. She was absolutely amazing, wish I remembered her name.”

“There was so much to see and do! The admission price is well worth it. A few things cost extra but almost everything is covered. And pumpkins are $2 no matter what size. Several food trucks were there. Everything was reasonable on concessions like water and cokes. We had a group with adults and kids of all ages. We all had a great time. Definitely worth making the time to go!”

“Very nice Autumn festival activities! It was easy to find from the freeway. There are side by side vehicles in rotation to take you up to the entrance after you park. The bathrooms are clean, and there are food and drink vendors available. The animals are able to be photographed up close and you can pet them. It's a great place to visit with children and let them explore nature.”

“Helena Hollow is a surprisingly great place to visit. I wasn’t expecting much other than the basics for a “pumpkin patch”. They have so much more to do. Petting zoo, multiple slides. Short but good zip line, snack trucks, tractor pull (iykyk) and several photo opportunities.”

“It's a great place for the family. They had food trucks, animals, face Painting and much more! My granddaughter really enjoyed herself”

“Very family oriented! Great for all ages !”

“Many fun experiences for people of all ages. Limited pumpkin selection, but plenty if you prefer standard orange. Pleasant staff. Food and snack options. Much of the parking is a good long walk from the location. Carts helped get you in, but none to get you back while carrying pumpkins (that's the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars).”
