Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Pennsylvania.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Payment notes on file: Mastercard. Cash still helps at smaller stands.

“Love this place. It is great during late spring to early fall for fruit picking. In summer they have large scale events with, grill and beer and some local whiskey tasting. It’s busy and fun. Then Halloween and thanksgiving season roles around and the activities do not stop. You can go on hay rides, pumpkin picking, large scale corn maze and the best is the Apple cannon (fun for kids and adults). Would highly recommend to visit here. Don’t forget to go to their indoor market. The have fresh fruits and vegetables, cider and other fresh bottled products like jam. They make great pies and their signature item is the Apple cider donuts. Get the freshly made batch and it will fall apart in your mouth. One of the best farm you can visit around this area.”

“I was really impressed by Highland. Amazing warm apple cider donuts and pretty decent prices for everything. Went on a Saturday and even though it was a pretty big crowd, I barely waited in lines which was helpful with my toddler. Well staffed and everyone was nice! Had a ton to do for my one year old - train ride, pony ride, feeding goats, apple picking, playground- lots to do. We considered going to Linvilla but chose not to because of what I’ve seen about them not taking care of their animals well enough. The goats and chickens we saw looked very healthy and liked the kids! We were able to cram so much in just a couple of hours because of it being so organized and well staffed. Parking was free too.”

“Wonderful experience. I picked Highland Orchards because of its proximity to my home. When my family and I arrived we were all pleasantly surprised at all the other fun activities that were available. We enjoyed a leisure hay ride, picked some apples, took photos in the sunflower field (those are NOT for picking, just for photos), and enjoyed all of the vendors there. We did some axe throwing, and had a pumpkin funnel cake that was DELICIOUS!! Overall, a great time. Parking was also good (we went on a Sunday).”

“One of my favorite stops here and the Exton area. They have a great store and I always buy something in the bakery. This year I bought a apple crisp cookie yum. Saturday before Halloween they have four or five food trucks here and all kinds of activities for the family and kids. They have a service that takes you out into the apple orchards and pumpkin patches. I went on this last year and it was nice little ride. Overall this is one of the best fall stops in the Exton area.”

“This place is amazing for a family day out during the fall weather. There’s plenty of places to eat, they have amazing ice cream for such a reasonable price, they have pony and horse rides, face painting and so much more. There’s a lot of seating areas too and a nice playground. There’s so many parking spaces as well!”
