Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Indiana.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We went for the first time as a family of 4, there’s lots of activities for all ages to enjoy! I like the variety of food and drink options and the food tasted like it was made with locally sourced ingredients. Although it was a decently busy Saturday, lines moved quick and it didn’t feel overly crowded. There was plenty of space for all activities, but it’s also not so big that it’s easy to get lost if you go in a group. Overall it’s 100% worth the money, and it feels good to support local families! Note: my son is diagnosed with ASD and he did extremely well in this environment, but be aware that there are rocks, dirt patches, and corn pits if mouthing is a concern for your kiddo!”

“A great place to make family traditions. They have an apple orchard and many different varieties. Every week will be a different variety. They have a sunflower maze,a corn maze,a children's play area, pumpkin picking, fire pits for rent for family gatherings. They also have special days like tractor show and caramel apple days. I feel like a kid getting to pick from all the toppings. Don't forget to go inside and try a peach or apple slushy.”

“Such a fun place to make memories with the whole family! Corn maze, zip lines, hay rides, bubbles, burlap sack slides, corn bins, and the infamous apple cannons—all of these are sure to be talked about within the family long after you leave Hillside Acres! Don’t forget about those delicious apple slushies paired with apple donuts!”

“We have been coming here since their first year open. Watching the changes and improvements has been great! They have come a long way! We stop by the store all of the time - especially for the Amish cream top milk, apples, and caramel dip!! We will go here every year and will continue for years to come! Great family experience!”

“We arrived at 1pm and didn't leave until close to 7pm and my 3 kids still were still having so much fun they didn't want to leave. It's definitely worth the entry fee.”

“What a fun place that has not been commercialized! The slides were just so fun! Great corn maze and the sunflower area was totally insta worthy. The cost is reasonable for what you get. There were also great donuts and cider. You pick apples or go to the store to get them. There was also a nice coffee bar but no decaf. It’s a great place for an afternoon out both grownups and kids!!”
