Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in California.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“They have the best strawberries, picked fresh daily and perfectly ripe. They’re soo sweet and tasty. They have other fresh veggies and fruits. They also have local honey in small mason jars as well. Owners were friendly and prices were reasonable.”

“Bought strawberries on Wednesday and I have to say that they are the best that I've had in years. Going back in the morning to buy enough for my Sunday School class snacks. The owner was very friendly.”

“We went to this stand on our way home from Fresno. We stopped and were looking around. There was a customer in front of me talking about a melon he bought a few weeks ago. He explained it to the younger lady and she said I don’t know what you’re talking about. She said it in a rude tone. I ignored it and we began to grab a few things. Our main purchase was a basket of strawberries. She reached down and grabbed one from under the stand. They looked ok on top so we went to pay. She told me my total was $24. I gave her $40 and didn’t notice until we left she only have me $12 back. She pretty much stole $4 from us. We got home and cut up some of the strawberries later that night. They were so tart we couldn’t eat them. If you plan on stopping here please use caution. I am all for supporting small businesses but not when they try to steal from you and sell you bad fruit. I will not be returning here.”

“I went to get some vegetables , the older lady that works there is extremely rude. I asked her politely where the tomatoes were and she pointed & said go look yourself I don’t have time for you. I found that so rude… I asked the guy that was working there “ why is she in a bad mood “ and his answer was “ she has a lot to do “. I think we are all busy , the fact that I could go to grocery store to get what I wanted but still went to them to support their business knowing the effort that goes behind it and to get treated like that. We are all busy. You are running a business not doing anyone a favor & for you to talk to someone like that is not acceptable. They are also very overpriced. While I was walking to my car the guy also made a comment about me. It was a really really bad experience.”

“I sent my elder Father Sunday to buy tomatoes. He purchased 4 bags, I am willing to pay prices required. They rotted by Tuesday. This is not exceptable, how do we get a refund???? I will drive & pick it up.”
