“Wow, just read a review from pauline El Kaim for this place. I knew some French are rude as I’ve been to France a couple of times but she pretty much lied. I was there the same week. We did have a cowboy clinic, we team penned cattle, learned how to rope, rode really as much as we wanted, separated bull calves from their moms, did a short cattle drive up the road(1 mile, 1.5?). I had asked about running the horses and was told I could. You had to do this in the arena, and Candace, the head wrangler, very politely explained why, the fields are covered in rocks, and for the safety of her guests and horses, which are their livelihood as they’re ridden daily, the only safe place was the arena. I am the “former client” and this was actually my 3rd year there. The family and the way they treat their guests is why I go back! She nicely asked Pauline to put her phone down one time. I’m assuming that’s why she thinks Candace was rude. Actually, I was one of the people that asked her to say something to this guest about her phone. I understand taking photos but she had her phone out the WHOLE time! My horse kicked and bit other horses, and she would continually not pay attention and I’d have to say something to her to stay back. Ugh! Candace and Richard had actually made plans for this guest to do a six hour trail ride up the face of a mountain. She decided the night before she was leaving instead. Mostly because she couldn’t run her horse. She supposedly had horses in France, so you would think she would know better! Also, this is the first time I’ve ever been there that a guest had a date with someone from tinder, even though she had boyfriend? Not just one night but 2? Weird having someone leave at 10-11 at night when you’re in the middle of nowhere and it’s a good 20-30 minutes until town? We were all very happy when this guest left the ranch. Then we had an even better time! We’re already thinking of making this our 4th year! Love this place!”

“I had an amazing time at the ranch. Richard and Patty are the most gracious hosts. Candace and Brooke are so wonderful and supportive. They are a joy to be around. So many laughs and memories made. They helped me to improve my riding skills and led us through great adventures with the herd, riding the mesas and up the mountain to the summer pastures. Mike is an excellent cook. The steak dinner is top notch. He made me a delicious strawberry cheesecake for my birthday. They even put a candle on a slice and sang happy birthday to me. The cabin was snug and perfectly comfortable. I slept so well on the comfortable bed after a long day of riding. There is never a moment of boredom just time to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the ranch. Being disconnected from my phone and the outside world for seven days was immensely satisfying. All that existed was the ranch, the Tass family, new friends and the beauty surrounding me. I made lifetime friends and was sad to leave. This ranch and everyone on it now lives in my heart ❤️”

“This is a wonderful location and it’s run by great people. Richard and Patty really made us feel like part of their family, from the meals to the conversation to helping with the cattle. Please understand that this is a real cattle ranch, and so you’re there to help with whatever needs to be done, so schedules have to be flexible. That said, we had plenty of input on the food and on the rides. The mountain rides were especially spectacular, and the food excellent. Will definitely consider going again!”

“Thank you for a great time at Klondike ranch. This was my third trip and it was very good again. You take such good care of the horses and cows, I enjoyed the trail rides as well as checking fence in the new pasture in the National forest. My absolute highlight were those really long rides through timber and bog land - it was adventurous always felt safe on my sure footed horse. I will be back with my friends for sure. Many greetings from Germany, Conny.”

“My wife and I had the most wonderful time on the Ranch. Richard and Patty truly make you feel like part of the family, whilst enabling you to have as much time on horseback as you like. The ride up the creek into the mountains for an overnight camp will live long in my memory. I can't recommend this Ranch enough and can't wait to go back!”

“I highly recommend the working ranch experience at Klondike! This is no dude ranch but the full experience for those who are looking to learn what it’s like to raise cattle. The staff (Richard, Patty, John, Candace, Brook, Mike, Shannon) were very welcoming and helpful throughout the experience. Looking forward to the next time!”

“One of the best experiences I've ever had. The work was fun, the food was great and the people were amazing. Mr. Richard and Mrs. Patty were great hosts and some of the best people. There were 7 guests total so everything felt very personal and we made great friends while we were here. Highly recommend it”

“A week-long stay for a "cowboy clinic" focused on horseback riding. Very beautiful setting, very friendly ranch owners. But in terms of activities, the majority were trail rides, at a walk, like in any tourist center. What was supposed to be a week of learning turned into a week surrounded by beginners on horseback. Despite having pointed this out several times, there was no way to adapt, no private riding lessons available. I ended up leaving the ranch mid-week even though it was already fully paid for and non-refundable... The wrangler who takes care of the clients is actually the wife of the owners' son and is very unpleasant. She doesn't talk to clients she doesn't like, criticize former clients in front of you, doesn't try to show them a good time, and when we try to communicate about possible activities or adjustments, she completely defers to her in-laws. In terms of riding time, about 2-4 hours per day, which leaves plenty of time to wander around your bungalow, without an internet connection, I should add. Typical schedule: Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Horseback riding at 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. Lunch at 12 p.m. Possible horseback riding from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner at 5 p.m. End Some nice horses, but you shouldn't go too fast so as not to upset them for future beginner clients... Very disappointed to have come all the way from Europe for this.”
