Knox Corn Maze at Gilreath Farms

“So I read another review that was quite negative and almost stayed away, but we ended up coming anyway. I am not a personal friend of the family. Here are my observations, somewhat in response to that review: The port-a-potty was fine. It was in normal condition and they have hand sanitizer in the booth as well as next to the petting zoo. I didn't get to pet the goats or calves, but maybe if I bought food ($1 for a small cup of goat feed) they would have been interested. I don't have kids so I don't know about the play area and bounce houses. The other kids there seemed to be enjoying themselves. The pumpkins to buy are not all in a bin, although they did have some up front. There is a large pumpkin patch, but you have to purchase the hayride ticket to get there (which I planned on doing anyway). The hayride was nice, if a little short. They take you through the back of the property through a few fields and the pumpkin patch is out there. There were probably large 100 pumpkins when I went on Halloween, so there were probably a lot more earlier in the season. It's really quite pretty, and probably even more so if it wasn't a semi-rainy day like when I went. I had fun in the corn maze. They give you a map and questions to answer that will guide you through the maze. I don't think anybody knows all the answers though, so you get lost anyway, which is fun one way or the other. It took about twenty or thirty minutes for us to get through the maze. I thought I would get tired and feel annoyed or something but that didn't happen. Other things: there are a few big (albeit low-tech) slides and there was a guy there that got us a plastic surfboard thing to sit on as you go down the water slide, a tarp with water and soap on it, and there's a big industrial pipe looking slide. I went down both and they were fun. Kids would probably love it. I didn't find much to complain about here. Keep in mind it's a small family farm, not Disneyland. But it's a nice way to spend an afternoon with friends or family. Obviously, your mileage may vary, but I had a good time and I'd recommend it.”

“Kids loved the slide down the hill on the disc sleds! I liked that it wasn't so big you felt you had to have eyes on your kid and could allow them to wander ahead of you if they wanted to. We will be back this year and do the maze.”

“Smaller than Oakes Farm, but the staff is much more friendly. We went the day before Halloween and had a great time.”

“It's was pretty good for a newer corn maze. The maze itself was really kind of easy. You have to pay for most stuff separately which is good if you just want to do one or two things. Prices were pretty good. The 3 stars are for the over all feel and fun.”
