“I was out driving around the Smithsburg, Md area hoping to find an apple orchard in early in December that had not yet closed for the season. I came upon Lewis Orchards as the first orchard. So I decided to stop and check out the place. What a find!!! I feel like I hit the jackpot. They still had apples and a nice selection too. So I decided to buy 3 bushel. I got a variety of Fuji, Gala, Granny Smith and Pink Lady. I was a little worried about the quality and freshness of the apples since it was early December. I bought them primarily to cook and freeze and enjoy throughout the year. When I got home I tried a sample of each variety. Oh My Goodness was I surprised. These were some of the best apples I have ever tasted. They were so fresh and crispy, and oh so tasty. I guess I won’t be cooking up as much of them as I had planned since I will be eating them fresh and sharing them with family and friends. Nothing like a crispy and juicy apple right from the orchard. Thank you to all at Lewis Orchards & Farm Market for the great apples. Happy Holidays!!! For the gentleman that left a one star rating if you would have called and brought your produce back to the market the following week we would have replaced your fruit or refunded your money. Customer satisfaction is always number one.”

“Lewis Orchard sells amazing produce. We make pickles from their cucumbers in Summer and applesauce plus other baked goods from their apples in Autumn. Their nectarines and peaches are also delicious. This orchard is located in the stunning valley of Smithsburg, MD - nestled at the foot of the Catoctin Mtns., Camp David, hiking trails, and Cunningham Falls State Park.”

“Although they didn't allow you to pick your own apples, they had a "you pick" flower area with a wide array of different flowers to choose from. They were very sweet with my children, and allowed them to watch the employees sort the apples in the barn. The prices were fair and the parking lot is big enough for a full size pick up.”

“Always good produce. Friendly people. Answer the phone and offer to sell you something you're looking for even if they're closed. Family owned and it definitely shows. Free sample of their apple cider and it's the best cider I've ever tried.”
