Little Italy Mercato Farmers' Market

“I absolutely loved this market. I honestly did not anticipate it being this crowded, but once you walk through it, you completely understand why. There were so many unique products and vendors everywhere you looked. I will say, this is much more of a food and grocery-style market than an arts or shopping market. Most of the booths were focused on fresh produce, bakery items, edibles, smoothies, dips, plants, and specialty foods. Toward the end of the street and up the incline, there were a few vendors with custom leather aprons, handmade jewelry, and artisan goods, but those were very limited and could honestly be counted on one hand. We ended up trying smoothies, gluten-free and vegan bakery items, cookies, hummus dips, and a few other snacks, and everything we had was genuinely delicious. Highly recommend overall. This is more than just a market stop, it’s an experience, especially if you enjoy exploring local food culture and walking through lively crowds and vendors.”

“Love this farmers’ market! Our first time here. They are open every Saturday. It’s huge (I think it is), it is 4 or 5 blocks of vendors at both sides of the street. So much food and so many different options. Grab a snack, do groceries, buy some souvenirs, listen to music, and just enjoy the vibe. Prices are ok. Some things are actually a really good deal. Some others not so much. Parking is as you can expect seating here pretty much in downtown San Diego. Lots of ACE paid parking little lots around the area. The market, little Italy, DT San Diego, Midway Museum, and the coastline are all within walking distance, depending on how much you like to walk!”

“The Mercato is so fun! People of all ages and backgrounds were filling the streets and it was a fun morning activity, especially for tourists looking to find a lot of food and entertainment all in one spot. There’s a wide variety of food stalls, drinks, coffee options, and handmade everything you can imagine! Definitely would recommend the empanada stall if you can spot it!”

“I am so glad that I was able to make it to the market while in San Diego. It was such an amazing and well done farmers market and I absolutely loved walking through. I found so many new favorite while here and would definitely come back when I can. Highly recommend, even more so if you enter farmers markets.”

“It was a lot of fun! There were a lot of vendors with lots of delicious and rare foods and many booths with homemade items. Most seemed reasonably priced considering the packaging and effort. There are a lot of things to try and apparently, there are better deals/discounts if you purchase there vs online.”

“Had the best berries of my life here🍓🫐, and the grilled oysters are absolutely fire🦪. There are so many different shops to explore, and you can even catch a view of the ocean in the distance. My hotel is right next door, which makes it super convenient too—definitely a bonus😝🤓”

“Lovely!!!!! Went on a Saturday around 12 (probably the busiest time) and it was VERY crowded. Next time I'd arrive earlier. Arrive hungry because there are so many food vendors you don't want to miss out on!”
