What you can pick

In August, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Florida, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Florida.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“What a fantastic experience! I've been wanting to visit this blueberry farm for a couple of years now. They were open this past Friday at 7:30 am. It was perfect timing for this early riser. Do check their posted seasonal u-pick schedule on their website or FB before making a special trip. Blueberry season typically starts in April and runs into May. The dates are posted weekly. It was easy to find and very close to Valrico. Especially if you're coming from Lithia Pinecrest Rd. There's a pathway that leads you to the parking lot once you get to Neal Rd. It's a short walk to the covered barn where you will receive your bucket. Just tie it tight around your waist so that it doesn't fall under the weight of the blueberries. The bucket holds up to 6 lbs. It's such a well organized process. The farm is huge. There were at least 10 families there, and I rarely saw them. There were so many beautifully ripe blueberries ready to be picked. The Jewel clusters of berries seem to fall right off when you touch them. Be sure to cup your hands underneath it. The Emerald variety is larger and tend to stay clustered together. I picked a mixture of both varieties. Before I knew it, the bucket was halfway filled. It was such a fun experience! So much so, that I'm hoping to do it again before the end of the season. It's such a happy place! The ladies who run it are so friendly & kind. They're even selling local honey from Sam's Honey Bees. Everything is so delicious! I also appreciated the shoe scraping & hand washing stations. Again, everything is so organized. It's a must if you're looking for great blueberries and/or a great family experience. Just do it. You'll be rewarded with fresh berries, and a peaceful retreat from urban life.”

“We had a wonderful time picking blueberries at Lyna Berry Farm today! They have a great setup, great prices and delicious blueberries! You can spend as much time as you need (or as little) and they provide a bucket with plastic bag liner (which doubles as your shopping bag once you’re checked out. Price is $3.00 per pound and the bucket holds 6 lbs if you fill it (we only bought 2 lbs but plan to return in a couple weeks for more)”

“Our second year picking blueberries here. Highly recommend. Easy access for mobility scooter. My grandkids had a great time. Very friendly staff. They also sell blueberry bushes if you want to grow your own. Reasonable price for blueberries. 3 dollars a pound. They do cash, Venmo, or check. No Credit Cards. Wear shoes as it can be a little muddy in places. They water the bushes. I made blueberry jam with mine. So easy to do.”

“We had such a great time picking blueberries here last year! The owners post u-pick dates on Facebook so make sure to check there for the most up to date info. The bushes are full of plump and juicy blueberries at a good price ($3.75 this year and last) and it’s a fun activity for all ages. We went early in the morning before it got too hot, and got a whole bucket full in no time.”

“First time today! I was so impressed with the farm! Kept so nice and they have the perfect system set up to pick to your hearts content. Check their website ahead to be sure the picking is ready. They do close and allow for berries to replenish. The quality of berries is amazing. Two varieties: Jewel and Emerald! Both excellent!”

“This is the best place to pick blueberries in my opinion! Susan & Lyna do a phenomenal job all year to get the blueberries ready for the U-Pick season which is usually April – May depending on the weather. They keep you updated by email and Facebook as to when you pick is open and they are now CLOSED for season.”

“I’ve been Blueberry picking for a decade and Lyna farm is the only 5 star farm! It’s well organized. It’s very popular I learned today so go early! There’s a bounty of berries and they’re so sweet! I’ll bring my grandkids this season!”

“Our family had a wonderful time picking blueberries here! They taste so good and ripe. Highly recommend stopping by!”
