Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Nevada.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Finally made it out here after knowing about it for a couple years. I was able to try several fruit and bought some that looked good anyway. I loved the yellow apples, snow beauty (I think), figs, and dapple dandy fruit. I also got to do a tour on a golf cart where I learned about all the wine grapes they sell to wineries, fruit trees, the free mulch, the bee hives they keep, desert plants they are growing. They even had a plant themed free little neighborhood library. the fruit was kept in a cool room and was $2 a pound. This is a great please to get fresh fruit for a charcuterie board!”

“Master gardeners, yes! They allowed me to pick up some fresh mulch from pine trees, I used some this last year. It’s really good at trapping morning condensation to hydrate the plants in my yard and to keep the microorganisms healthy. I highly recommend it too to allow mycelium to grow which will connect your plants together because they use mycelium to communicate therefore making them happy and healthy as they’re social creatures.”

“There are hundreds of palms, bees, birds and vineyards. It is not open walk to the public however, yet they do support the community through charity. I love! their second CENTER- strawberry mint, chocolate mint..mojito flavored mint. There are actual mint plants growing and smelling of all these flavors!”

“Wonderful, intelligent and scientifically advanced experiments as well as knowledge and application useful to bother the local and global ecosystem and the best fresh pepper I’ve found in the longest time. Take the tour, buy some fruits and vegetables and donate big! Taking the bee keeping class soon.”

“Really cool if you're into agriculture, especially if you aren't from the area. If you do live in the area it's a good place to be aware of. Love your extension and the people who put in the work to create these resources. Also, I'm very jealous that every season is a growing season in deserty areas.”

“Master gardeners grow a variety of herbs, veggies and fruits to see which do best in the Mojave desert. All seasonal produce is for sale in the little hut including fresh herbs! The staff is very knowledgeable.”

“Its not what I expected not very well organized, I was going to get a tour throughout the orchard but they just keep on going on circles ,I think is morw like a family, run business very ranch like, it was hot and ibkeptbon waiting , I end up signing up and buying grapes, that part I love she mentioned that they have like 14 types of grapes and they are almost ready for harvest, but we don't do the picking they do and ,buy it at the stand no fruits at this t8me I guess I am late for it but the have all kind of herbs and they had figs, I was referred by a friend that I met at the orchard and she told me that at the end of the year they do this fruit trees selling and that you have to sign up so I went to the place just to take a look at it because I am interested in buying some fruit trees for my house and they actually provide classes to how you know to be productive and how to take care of the plants and stuff like that so they are very Farm oriented and I guess that's one of the things that I am interested in finding out more very friendly people too and I end up buying some green grapes to go and I saw they also have four balls you have to park on the outside because when you go through the GPS it will tell you to turn left but there's no way you can go inside with your vehicle you have to park on the outside or like on the street”

“The manager woman there was unwelcoming and rude. Said "Can I help you?" as if they are not open to the public and marketing that they have fresh produce. Who took your joy, lady? They had little offerings this time of year. Roger made up for that interaction by telling us about the center, about the plants, tips on gardening, bees, when plants are ready to harvest, etc. He was very kind and has a wealth of knowledge to share with home gardeners.”
