Maui Mango Mala Farm Tour

“I feel like I was properly introduced to Mangos for the first time on this tour. Smita and Andre talked some big game about their special Indian/Hawaiian fusion mangos, and then I took a bite. Let me tell you, it was one of the most delicious things I've eaten my whole life. There are also all kinds of other wonderful treats packed onto their beautiful farm as well, but 11 out of 10 on the main attraction. I highly recommend this tour to all. It will change the way you think about what a farm should look like. My wife and I went during xmas/new years time and loved learning about Smita and Andre's efforts to put permaculture techniques into practice. “Maui Mango Mala was an absolute blast, easily one of the most memorable experiences of my trip. This is not the commercialized, conveyor belt style farm tour you see everywhere else on the island. It’s a tiny, rustic boutique farm run by a passionate owner who genuinely loves what he does, and it shows in every minute of the visit. The group size was extremely small, which made the entire experience feel personal, calm, and unhurried. We learned about truly organic farming practices, zero chemicals, and how much care goes into cultivating their mangoes and other fruits. The owner was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly generous with his time and stories.”

“While searching for non-water activities to do in Maui I came across Mango Mala tour and booked a tour because (1) I am a mango enthusiast from Pakistan and (2) I didn’t know mangoes grew in Maui! My husband and I were thoroughly educated and entertained by Andre who greeted us at the farm gate along with his cat Tyson! We were impressed by the setup, by the amount of work involved in permaculture and different varieties of plants that thrive together. “We lucked into a private tour of the farm with Andre on a beautiful afternoon. He generously shared his knowledge of permaculture and regenerative farming while walking us around the property. We ended the tour with a sampling of delicious fruit - including the sweetest mango, orange, and star fruit I've ever tasted. Just be aware that in the winter months, there may not be any mango. We also got to taste a few very unusual fruits: Surinam cherries and Panamanian cherries, as well as ice-cream-beans. ❤️”

“Andre was so well informed about growing different species of plants and how important soil was for the land! It was only me and my boyfriend on the tour and he was so personable! The fruit he prepped for us was so flavorful & juicy. He also gave us some tips and places to go to while we were here in Maui and we enjoyed the fruit on Launiupoko Beach at sunset :) would highly recommend to anyone coming to Maui. Plus he has a really cute cat Tyson & Shadow!”

“Hosts were amazing. Tyson the cat was our bodyguard throughout the tour. We tried different fruits and got a lesson on how the fruit is grown. They gave us a nice little fruit tray at the end of the tour and walked us to the small shop where they have cute and beautiful clothes for sale. I would highly recommend. It felt like we were hanging out with friends.”
