“My husband has raved about Maynes Farm for years. He grew up visiting for all kinds of family traditions and adventures — fruit picking, pumpkin patch visits, and Christmas trees — so this Memorial Day weekend we finally took our daughter strawberry picking for the first time, and it absolutely lived up to everything he said. With an active toddler who is newly learning to walk, we opted for the quart-size option instead of filling a full box, which ended up being perfect for us. The fields were very well maintained, and after all the recent rain I was pleasantly surprised by how much straw had been put down to help keep things manageable. I was initially worried about mud, but it really wasn’t bad at all. That being said — it’s a farm, so I’d still highly recommend wearing boots or rain boots just to make things easier. The strawberries were big, juicy, and beautiful. The scenery itself is absolutely gorgeous and made for the sweetest little mini photoshoot with our daughter. Once you finish picking, you pay at the end based on weight, and they are cash only — definitely something helpful to keep in mind before heading out. I’d also personally recommend bringing your own basket if you have one. One of the details that completely won our daughter over was the old-school Radio Flyer wagons available for kids. She was obsessed. After all the walking, exploring, and strawberry picking, she was completely worn out by the end. There’s also a porta-potty on site that was clean and stocked with sanitizer, which as a parent I always appreciate. What makes this place even more special is that it’s a generational family-run farm, and genuinely some of the kindest people I’ve met. You can feel the care and heart behind it. We’ll absolutely be back — asparagus picking may be next on our list, and of course a Christmas tree later this year. *Andrea, mentioned they may offer build your own wreath classes for the 2026 winter season as well as some other new activities. “This is our fourth year coming to this farm to cut our Christmas tree, and we've had nothing but great experiences each time. The staff are incredibly friendly and hardworking, always making the process enjoyable and seamless. The farm itself is beautiful, and we love the atmosphere here. “Dear Mayne Family: Thank you for providing our family our third year in a row fresh cut Christmas tree. The short ride out to the fields was amazing and then we appreciated the “shaking” and bailing of our tree for the one hour ride back home. Being originally from New England it is awesome to have a local family farm to come to with my children now.”

They really need to get a life. Go get a crappy tree from home depot if you're in a hurry to get home and yell at people on social media”

“Mayne's is the best for a lowkey family farm visit! They have a hayride to & from the pumpkin patch plus a small farm stand every weekend in October (10-5 Sat & Sun). Free admission, free parking, great prices, and friendly service. BTW, Christmas 🎄 season starts the Friday after Thanksgiving”

“!!!WARNING!!! Maynes Tree Farm at 3420 Buckeystown Pike lack of proper ingress/egress pathways directly impacted customers, leaving them stranded in the parking lot for an alarming period. Which led to the Frederick County Sheriff's office, dispatching a deputy to the property. Due to the inaccessible driveway, the Sheriff had to park his patrol vehicle on the roadway and was guided onto the property via ATV by the owner. Unfortunately, congestion at the sole exit hindered those attempting to leave, exacerbated by the continuous influx of people facilitated by the owner. The situation escalated as several customers sought resolution from the owner, only to face irate and confrontational behavior. This distressing situation persisted for over two hours, leaving our 14-month-old child without vital supplies such as food and diapers, unforeseen due to the unexpected confinement at Maynes Farm. I'd like to emphasize that on that day, if a medical emergency had occurred, emergency responders wouldn't have been able to reach customers on the farm. Additionally, if we had needed to leave due to unforeseen emergencies, we were completely trapped with no viable means of exit. It's crucial to highlight the severity of this issue in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in such situations.”
