“I learned about this ice cream stand via a Nextdoor post from the owner. A friend and I recently went to check it out. Simple menu but very reasonably priced, good portions and yummy ice cream from NC Dairy farm, Homeland Creamery. Cash or Venmo only! Compared to some other local ice cream shops, the number of flavors are limited but they had some fun ones like lemon crunch and blueberry danish (which may be seasonal). We both got hot fudge sundaes with real hot fudge. They also came with wet nuts, whipped cream, and a cherry. Several people before us got milkshakes that also looked pretty good. The covered porch out back was nice to sit and talk while we enjoyed our ice cream. They also have a few tables inside along with bathrooms. There is a large play area outside for families as well. Perfect spot for a short trip out of town and change of scenery.”

“We visited McLean Farms today for their strawberry festival. We had a great time. The strawberries are delicious and plentiful! They have 3 different sized containers you can choose with 3 different prices. The largest is $18. There is a silo that has been converted into 2 bathrooms. There are even ceiling fans in the bathroom which is nice on a hot day. They also have ice cream that you can purchase outside or from the counter inside their large AIR CONDITIONED space. A single scoop on a cup is $3. They accept cash and also had a venmo qr code at the register. Parking is gravel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.”

“Stopped in after seeing the farm name mowed into one of their fields from an airplane. Great place to take the kids! Spacious air conditioned sitting area indoors with lots of tables, nice/clean restrooms, friendly staff, great play area in the back with rocking chairs and covered porch, and an inflatable bounce pad. Will be returning for sure, kids didn't want to leave. Cash/Venmo payments accepted.”

“We had such a lovely time hosting our baby shower here! The staff was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, the space looked beautiful, and everything came together so smoothly. Our guests had a wonderful time and we’re so grateful for how easy and special they made the day feel. Highly recommend for any special event!”

“We have hosted our son’s birthday party at McLean farms and every one loved it. Thank you Steve for accommodating Bounce house. Kids very much enjoyed the play area and yummy ice cream to add on top of it.”

“Our kids had a blast playing on all the different bouncy houses, slides and trails. Ice cream is amazing. You get the feeling you're in the mountains. We're coming back with our friends and family”

“The kids had a great time here on the farm eating ice cream and playing on the playground, and it was so close to home. Didn't have to drive far to have fun 😁🍨🍦”

“Went for an Easter festival, assuming it would be great considering we had to pay. I paid 40$ for 2 kids to do an Easter egg hunt at the 12:30 slot (2 adults, 2 kids and 2 petting zoo. They had ran out of candy, and the kids were very disappointed with the amount of candy they received. I’m not disappointed in the candy amount just disappointed in the amount of activities involved in the price. The price included the Easter egg hunt, which both children received 3 pcs of candy. The bounce houses. (The reason it’s more than a 1 star) an egg coloring (no where to be found) we didn’t ask because the kids were more interested in the bounce houses. The bunny petting zoo, that everyone was able to do as we went with friends and they didn’t pay for the petting zoo but their children were able to join in.i didn’t mention I paid extra for the petting zoo. I drove almost an hour to get out of the free public events for Easter and ultimately I could have just paid 40 and did an Easter egg hunt at my home. This review isn’t about me, but the one kid that came to me and said “the worst Easter ever, they only gave me 3 pieces of candy” and to realize I really paid 40$ for a child to be disappointed and 3 pieces of candy, not to mention the child is far from a spoiled, as a single mother with one income. They didn’t mention in their ad to bring buckets- I guess I should have assumed. But the gentleman that answered the phone was nice and told us to come to the ice cream shop to get a strawberry bucket. I can’t review the rest of the game but they could have done much better with the event.”
