“We had a very beautiful day at the farm, one of those visits that felt like you are surrounded by close friends/family with surprises around every corner of the property. Our guide was delightful, thoughtful and informative. And a delight to spend time with P.Allen while visiting. The farm has been thoughtfully designed with care, and detail in every direction. And the chef, lunch was magic to the tastebuds, so much care and detail made us feel like old friends/family visiting for the day at grandmas or your favorite aunts home. We definately want to make a return visit in another season. Thank you for sharing your passion with the world.”

“We had a wonderful day visiting Moss Mountain Farm despite some heavy rain! The staff was friendly and helpful. Our tour guide, Carrie was engaging and very informative. The gardens were absolutely beautiful and I really did not expect to tour the house which was so beautifully curated! Lunch was delicious and what a treat to have a chat with Allen about hydrangeas! This was a bucket list for me and totally worth the long trip from Virginia! Thanks for a memorable visit!”

“We loved our tour of the house and gardens. I would recommend if you have health issues, know there are 3 sets of stairs in the house, on the house tour. There is a lot of walking to see the 4 or 5 gardens. You need to be aware of the weather and dress appropriately and wear comfortable shoes. The hosting ladies were excellent. They informative and entertaining. If you are interested in gardening or design you will love it!”

“We had a wonderful day visiting the exquisite home, gardens, and farm animals. The friendly and knowledgeable staff paced the day perfectly - these people know what they are doing! We loved the great gift shop and enjoyed a delicious lunch with other guests, who all seemed to really appreciate our special surroundings. The icing on the cake was the appearance of the very gracious P. Allen Smith after lunch!”

“It was a beautiful day on the farm. Our guide, Carrie, was excellent. Her knowledge of the farm and plants was very interesting. She, herself, was a delight as well. We look forward to returning again during a different season to see the progression of the plants/trees. Lunch was light and fresh with the pie being totally amazing. It was a nice surprise to meet Allen Smith as well.”

“Moss Mountain was a wonderful day experience, Loved the history of the house and its architecture and culture. Although the gardens were not in full bloom during our visit, they were well planned and we will return to catch their glory. Lunch was fabulous along with the P Allen Smith visit conversation. Highly recommended visiting .”

“We had an amazing visit at Moss Mountain Farms. Our day ended up being very rainy but the staff made it work and we feel like we got to see so much in spite of the weather. P. Allen coming in to visit with us was icing on the cake. The grounds, the home, I cannot say enough about the beauty of this place. Perfect girls trip!!!”

“Went last weekend in the rain. They do not cancel tours your just deal with it which is ok. Very little blooming mostly dormant. The guide was not great she had to use some app just to identify plants which shouldn’t be that hard to learn…especially with the number of repeating plantings throughout the gardens! Lunch was a half hour late + and it was salad and a piece of pie with tea. Not lunch. Maybe light lunch maybe but even that would be reaching. They have a vegan / vegetarian option. The main house was stuffed full of odds and ends including a taxidermy swan which looked out of place and really quite sad. The emphasis on Native American art / decor was quite tone deaf as I feel sure the 600 acres this place encompasses was once Native land… Would not recommend going at this time of year $99 per person way too high a price per ticket especially during this dormant period!”
