In August, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Nevada, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Nevada.

  • Check whether this stop is a stand, orchard tour, or full farm experience before you arrive.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Payment notes on file: American Express, Discover, Mastercard, VISA. Cash still helps at smaller stands.

“Nevada Sunset Winery is an absolute gem! Their wine is simply amazing—every sip is full of rich, bold flavors that truly showcase the passion and craftsmanship behind it. Whether you’re a wine lover or just looking for a great place to unwind, this winery is a must-visit. I recently hosted a branding workshop at Nevada Sunset Winery, and it was the perfect venue! The space is intimate yet versatile, making it ideal for both small gatherings and larger events. Everyone who attended loved the ambiance, the welcoming atmosphere, and of course, the incredible wine. The staff was beyond accommodating, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish. If you’re looking for a fantastic place to enjoy great wine, celebrate a special occasion, or host an event, Nevada Sunset Winery is the spot! Highly recommend!”

“We had the pleasure of meeting Kate, owner of Nevada Sunset Winery. During a recent trip to NV, with my Aunt, I planned a week of fun including wine tasting. When I saw Nevada Sunset, and reached out to Kate about “Easter” hours, she said they would be open. When we arrived there were already 5 people there and when we left 1 1/2 hours later there were over a dozen guests. Kate knew everyone and I really felt the family environment. Wines are amazing, to say the least, and Kate is so knowledgeable. Needless to say, it was a no brainer to become a wine club member. I look forward to my next visit and the opportunity to introduce more family and friends to this great spot.”

“If you haven't had an opportunity to visit Nevada Sunset Winery I highly recommend it!! We had the opportunity to host my mother's birthday at the winery this past weekend and Kate and Craig made hosting our celebration a breeze. Kate was easy to communicate with through the entire process. She even invited us in to do a wine tasting prior to our gathering to select the wines that we enjoyed most. Craig was the host during our event. He had our wines open and ready for serving and was happy to lend a hand and had suggestions with set up, and happy to help during the event. Our guest we extremely happy and so was the guest of honor. Thank you, Kate & Craig”

“This place is just perfect! Whether it's for date night, girls' night, or gathering with friends, this is your go-to spot. The setting is just beautiful, with a great bar area for socializing with the welcoming and gracious hosts, Kate and Craig, as well as cozy seating areas for intimate gatherings with friends. The wine is just fabulous, thanks to Kate’s extensive training and experience and dedication to her craft. I visited twice in two days, joined the wine club, and bought a case of wine… and cannot wait to go back!”

“My boyfriend and I had such a great time here. We both did the $20 wine tasting, we got to taste 5 different wines and every one was delicious. We ended up walking out with 2 bottles. They have very fair prices, a welcoming environment, lots of seating, the music isn’t too loud so you will still enjoy a conversation while you’re there, and the owner is so friendly and creates a fun tasting experience. We will definitely be back!”

“I am getting ready to host a second annual Artown event here at the winery. I feel lucky to work with Kate and Craig at the beautiful and inviting space they've curated. I think this is a Reno hidden gem for events - mixers, presentations, meetings, celebrations. Folks should not be shy about checking it out and booking an event here. But pictures say more than words - can't make up the good vibes!”

“This is a great place to rent for an event, and also a fun place for a glass of wine. Kate makes excellent wines, blending California style with European roots. The reds have soft tannins with bright flavors. While I'm more of a "new world" wine girl, Kate's wine -making style brings the best of "old" and "new" world together.”

“So excited to discover this local winery! Kate, the owner and vintner, is so friendly and knowledgeable. The wines taste amazing and I was excited to join the wine club and get to know and support a local winery. Highly recommend!”
