“Best pick your own we've been to in the Pittsburgh area for the fruits they have (cherries sweet & tart (my favorite), pears & apples, apparently blueberries now (haven't been for this), grapes that have always been sold out before we got there). This is *not* a place with a store with tons of products not grown on-site (they do sell pre-picked fruit of the same types you can pick there). This is a SMALL business. The owners seem like genuinely decent people (even advised us our front yard sour cherry tree should be fruiting by now and we should get another one for pollination), the kind of people my grandparents would have thought were just normal people. The instructions are mostly about how to use a ladder safely (yes, in this age of insane litigation, they actually still let you use ladders!). They aren't insanely obsessed with no one eating at all in the field. They remembered me, too (perhaps because they let me pick over the sour cherries the first time we went even after the season had officially passed - also a point in their favor!) I almost hesitate to leave this review because this place is so much better, by my lights anyway, than any of the other pick your own places in the area I've been to. But they deserve it.”

“Such a special place and certainly a hidden gem! Went here for the first Saturday of the Fall season and was very very satisfied! Amazing apples, farmers and a beautiful orchard. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to take the kids out or for a fun time with a date, especially since you can get plenty of apples to make homemade apple butter, apple sauce, fresh apple pie, and the list goes on and on! Wonderfully easy to get to, just make sure you bring cash, as it's cash only! :)”

“Normans orchard was a fantastic experience. From the super nice owner/operators, to the huge selection of apples, and other apple related products. The orchard is a time for anyone young or old. We got a ton of apples and tons of new varieties we had never tried before. All of the apples were delicious and of the highest quality. If you are in the area, and you have an hour or two you should definitely give the orchard a visit and meet some great people and eat some great apples!”

“Whether it's picking cherries, blueberries, peaches and grapes in summer, or a variety of delicious apples in fall, we love visiting Norman's Orchard. It's beautiful and the family that runs the farm inspires us with thier stewardship of the land. Our kids love the fruit and love the experience of visiting the orchard, climbing ladders and harvesting delicious treasures to take home and enjoy. :)”

“I haven’t been to a lot of farms in PA. My impression is that Norman’s Orchard is a medium to big size farm. The ground isn’t flat like some others which might add some work for toddlers walking around or parents pushing strollers. They have a wide variety of apples and pears—it was the end of the season when we went, so there might be more earlier.”
