A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in West Virginia.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.

“Make this place your fall tradition, you won’t regret it. This has been my family’s fall tradition for the past 3 years. Usually we come for the night maze and the hay ride where we can see the night sky without the light pollution of being in town but this year we came during the day as well. The daytime is amazing. There’s so much more to do for the kids that they’ve added this year and the prices for food/drink are reminiscent of pre-pandemic prices. Everything is so affordable which makes the experience even better. The petting zoo was a huge hit and the fresh made apple cider is to die for. They even have apple cider donuts which are amazing every single year. The McDonald family is also a kind and down to earth group. I got to sit around the fire talking to the brothers and they clearly love this farm and genuinely care about the community. Come out and support this current generation in continuing to carry out their father’s and grandfather’s work of creating memories for the community.”

“I have visited old McDonalds farm for as long as I can remember. It is always a pleasant experience, bringing me memories of my family’s farm down south, as we made it a yearly tradition to visit old McDonalds when they came to visit from out of state. The staff is amazing, always welcoming and make us feel at home. If you have children, their playground area is wonderful, and they will love petting and seeing the farm animals. My daughter truly enjoyed that experience, I know your kids will want to come back again! 10/10 highly recommend.”

“We had a wonderful day at old McDonald’s pumpkin patch. Admission is very low compared to the other fall festival attractions. The hayride was fun. The food they had on site was not overpriced and delicious. They are things to do for all ages. It was not crowded and as very well run by the MCDonald family. Every year they continue to add new things. We have been coming for years and will continue to do so. Come with your family and have a great time while supporting a local run business!”

“Small but nice family friendly farm and pumpkin patch. Affordable. Their apple-cider donuts are really good. My kids enjoyed their large inflatable pads to jump on. The corn maze wasn't too difficult---nice for younger kids to run around and feel successful at. Definitely worth a visit and fun, Fall day.”

“Great little pumpkin patch! Animals, hayrides, games, corn maze, playground area, apple cider donuts, hot dog food truck, and of course the pumpkin patch itself. Lots to keep kids entertained. Not too big, great value for the price. Would definitely come again if I lived in the area.”
