Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New Jersey.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Beautiful market! Extremely clean with a wonderful selection of fruits and veggies! Baked goods are scrumptious!!!... as I always have something to nibble on for the ride home. Meat, dairy products and drinks in their cold cases are always tempting! I have been visiting here since they opened and no matter what season it is I always come home with something delicious!!! Support your local farmers!!!!”

“We come here every year with our kids, even though it’s more than a 30-minute drive for us because we always enjoyed the strawberry-picking experience. This year, however, they started charging an $7 admission fee per person, plus $3 for a picking bucket, and the strawberries are $5.25 per pound. For a family of four, that’s $31 before picking a single strawberry ($28 admission + $3 bucket). Unfortunately, it feels like the experience has become too expensive for families.”

“The older male cashier who was working the register around 12pm on March 18th was rude and unnecessarily harsh with my 3-year-old daughter. She simply asked for a bag at checkout and he told her, “The world doesn’t revolve around her.” It was shocking to hear an adult speak to a toddler that way. Very poor customer service — especially when dealing with families. Staff should be trained to treat young children with basic kindness.”

“They decided to start charging admission to pick your own $7/ person plus $6.99/lb for blueberries. 6 lbs of pick your own cost us almost $80 with admission. The older woman who manages the farm is extremely rude and condescending. We live local but will not return to the farm or the farm stand. Shame, it is a beautiful place, but the management deserves to be removed.”
