“went there at the beginning of november, lots of ppl hunting persimmons. if you want pick by yourself be reminded to bring tools, gloves, ladder otherwise you will get nothing (bc mostly tree top fruits remain when we arrived). they also selling $5 bag, persimmons, Valencia orange, pineapple guava, pomegranate etc. ugly but sweet. price is lower than TJ/grocery stores”

“Ramona Fresh Fruits is a small family owned fruit farm at the foothills of Romana, CA. We came on the weekend in November to pick persimmons. Price was $45 for a bucket and you get $10 back when you return the bucket. They have variety of persimmon cultivars including Fuyu and Hachiya. We didn’t come prepare to pick the persimmons as we didn’t bring ladders or pruning shears. So we ended up buying the bag of the persimmons. Also, they have other fruits for purchase such as Valencia oranges, pineapple guava, pomegranate, etc. They also have fruit preserves and dried fruits for sale. Note that the U-Pick Persimmon Season opens between late October thru November until fruit runs out (depends on fruits maturity and inventory) and this is cash only operation. We used the Hachiya persimmons to bake two loafs of delicious persimmon bread (pictures included). This is a popular U-Pick operation in Ramona and we will definitely be back next year with the proper equipments:ladders and pruning shears.”
