“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re driving through South Georgia and thinking, “We need to stop somewhere good” — this is it. Rutland Farms isn’t just a farm market. It’s a true roadside destination — the kind of place that gives you everything you want from a stop, and more than you expected. First thing you notice: it’s clean, open, and well-kept. Plenty of space to pull in, stretch your legs, and breathe. No chaos. No rush. Just good land and a calm atmosphere that resets you after miles on the road. There’s real abundance here — not clutter. Fresh produce, homemade ice cream, baked goods, jams, honey, and local goods you can trust. Real food, made right. Everyone in the car will find something they’re happy about. Then there’s the experience. U-pick fruits, fishing ponds, playgrounds, a petting zoo, hayrides, a corn maze, and seasonal events that turn a quick stop into a memory. Kids can run. Adults can slow down. Nobody feels rushed. They even offer hands-on workshops and special events you don’t expect to find on a road trip, but end up glad you did. Most important part: the people. Friendly, genuine, and welcoming — even if you’ve never been before. If you’re tired, hungry, traveling with family, or just want to see what real South Georgia looks like, pull in here. Get the ice cream. Walk the grounds. Take a breath. This isn’t just a stop. It’s the part of the drive you remember.”

“Rutland farms has always been a great start to the Christmas season for our family. Everyone is friendly and helpful and they have the most beautiful trees to choose from...and lots of them! Saws are provided, or you can bring your own chainsaw. There is always someone riding around to ask if they can help. The shop is filled with sweet treats and thoughtful gifts. Start your own family tradition of picking out and cutting a real tree by visiting Rutland farms this year!”

“They got strawberry patches Christmas trees multiple ponds you can fish in. They even offer a tractor ride tour around the facility and the pond and the farm , camping, outdoor dining and picnic benches and restrooms outside .They even include a map and a dropbox where you can drop your payment. They have a country store inside. They even have a wine selection.”

“We love this place! You can pick berries, and the kids can play on the playground. There is a shelter for parties available for rent. They have a small petting zoo where you can feed the animals. Ice cream, snacks, cake, and all kinds of stuff are available in the store. We've been several times, and it has always been a fun experience!”

“Great stop on a long drive! Stumbled on this place by accident a few years ago, and honestly love it. Ice cream is soo good, and they have great road trip snacks. Pick up the cheese straws! The girls are always so nice too, easy to chat with!”

“Great time with Grand Daughters pre K Class . Loved all the variety of Christmas trees. The high light was the excitement of the Children seeing the Alligator.. And the petting zoo. Great place for fun for the whole Family...”

“Was a quaint quite country farm, very beautiful, feed the animals at the petting barn, had the BEST strawberry soft serve ice cream ever!, picked sunflowers to take home and plant and cut a mason jar of flowers to take to my fiance mother, had a beautiful time, would definitely go again, was several hours of fun, but would have been better on a non wet day!”

“Strictly reviewing as a field trip for my grandson's 1st grade trip. **I've only been to one other farm as a field trip (Southern Grace Farms in Nashville), - so I only have it to compare to.** We could only pick strawberries from the first 12 rows, and being other classes had been there as well, pickings were FEW, and FAR between. We even had to help another student fill their container due to a lack of berries. The strawberries only lasted a day on the counter, unlike the other farm strawberries, (under the same conditions). Also the container at Rutland is smaller than the container they provide the kids at Southern Grace. Most of the employees seemed very stressed, not friendly, or not wanting to deal with classes, (large amounts of people), with the exception of maybe 2-3 of the staff. The water jug ran out, and wasn't refilled, forcing people to buy water, and heaven help the kids who didn't have adults there with them, it was HOT outside, (milk & juice they got for lunch didn't cut it for 1st graders). Each time I went to the counter they were out of ice-cream, so I gave up. The shop was very small, not much to choose from MOSTLY wine and cake, along with a few other things. The petting zoo was OK, mostly goat and sheep, DON'T pet the horses or donkeys, THEY BITE. A dead bird was in one peacock 🦚 enclosure, preventing children from going down to see those animals. The turkey bites/pecks, - be careful. Lots a bunnies, you can't hold, but you can pet. Yes, and alligator is in the pond, it knows when the tractor pulls up, there will be food, so it will swim back to the dock to be fed. That was exciting. The Christmas trees looked beautiful, and maybe during Halloween (for pumpkins 🎃) Christmas (for the trees 🎄), this place may be more exciting or exceptional. But as it is right now, it just gets 2 stars from me. My grandson was ready to leave 30 minutes after arriving, we stayed because he was playing on the playground, and I wanted him to experience the field trip.”
