“The RVA BIG Market is exactly what you hope a local outdoor market will be. Great energy, a diverse mix of vendors, and a genuine focus on supporting local small businesses. Everything—from handmade goods to food—felt thoughtfully curated, and pricing across the board was fair and reasonable. I also want to call out accessibility. I was there with my dad, who uses a scooter, and he had no trouble getting around and enjoying the market. That made a real difference for us. We did run into a small hiccup when we first arrived related to parking/traffic coordination. The individual directing traffic appeared to represent the park or market, but was actually affiliated with a separate soccer league and had no visible identification to clarify that, which created some confusion. What stood out—and why this is still a five-star experience—was how it was handled. One of the owners answered immediately, took the time to listen, and responded with genuine empathy and accountability. He shared that he could personally relate, being a disabled veteran like my father, and that understanding translated into swift action that resolved the situation right away. That kind of leadership matters. It sets the tone for everything else. Between the quality and variety of vendors, the welcoming atmosphere, and the responsiveness of the team behind it, this is absolutely a five out of five. We’ll definitely be back.”
