Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Massachusetts.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“This place is a hidden gem for a fabulous day picking apples! The new owner Joe is a caring, hardworking, super nice guy. Love seeing the passion for his orchard.🍎❤️ The apples that are in are Galas, Macintosh, Empire, Cortlands. Galas are particularly sweet and juicy. Better than any store bought! They’re cafe has delicious apple cider donuts, homemade apple pies, coffee (lattes too❤️), hot cider, hot chocolate, local maple syrup’s, etc. They’re also dog friendly, have wonderful area for a picnic, extra wagons and little bikes for kids. Plus incredible views! LOVE supporting this kind of business! Good luck Joe and get a “cafe” sign so people know it’s there!😁👍”

“Gorgeous place owned by the loveliest people. They beautifully restored the house and keep making the property better and better. The coffee, pastries and cider donuts are all delicious, so definitely visit the cafe. There’s room to relax with a pastry, sandwich and coffee on the weekends. Toys for kids and wagons to pull around the orchard. Apples were delicious of course! Wonderful addition to the community”

“Formerly Riiska Brook orchards and now with new owners. We were here last year before public apple picking was available. Excited that as of September 2025, it's open for picking! Gala, honeycrisp, matsui, and Mckintosh are ready to pick early September and other varieties ready later. There's a store in the barn and a coffee shop that's wheelchair accessible.”

“The quintessential apple orchard picking experience on a secluded pastoral mountain view studded farm with plenty parking. Only thing missing was hard cider but owner said next year ! I look forward to going back ...trees loaded with excellent variety of fruit! Also fresh made cider donuts and real cider are a must have fall fave.”

“What a pleasant experience. Super friendly and helpful staff, great prices (a peck is $18 or so). Taste the apples as you choose, ask questions of the staff. Percy the dog is awesome too! All around amazing experience.”

“This is the fourth year coming, and it’s by far the best year yet! The apples are consistently delicious, the donuts and homemade goods really make the experience perfect. I can’t wait for next year”

“Beautiful setting. Superb apples in so many varieties! Really nice people run it. Don’t miss their cider and their donuts fresh out of the oven.”

“Great place to pick apples. The views are amazing and the staff was very helpful.”
