Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New Jersey.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Schaefer Farms is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The farm itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and offers a fantastic experience for visitors of all ages. The farm store is a must-visit! Everything is fresh, high-quality, and reasonably priced. The selection of local goods, produce, and seasonal items is impressive. You can really tell that a lot of care and passion go into everything they offer. Whether you’re here for pumpkin picking, a fun day with family, or just to enjoy the peaceful countryside, Schaefer Farms never disappoints. Highly recommended!”

“A family fun experience for a farm especially during summer and fall for their hayride, corn maze, pumpkin patch(which has rides only on thur, sat & sun) they also sell varities of vegetables and farm animals also on site. I see there are some food vendors on site but they are probably open on weekends. Porta potty observed. Corn hole seen. See images and videos below for reference.”

“I went today at last minute because I was on my way to home .... sorry for been so late almost when they were closing.... but the ladies were so nice..... and my kids were so happy to see the animals on the farm.... thank you for make my day ..... next time I will be there more early...... now I know the hours for every day.....”

“There are a lot of areas for activities, live band playing, corn maze, corn cannon, animal feeding, horse ride and foot trucks when we visited. Staffs are very organized with parking directions and the whole place felt like a family friendly theme park. Recommanded.”

“Won’t say anything to ruin the surprise but RUN there for a great Halloween experience!!!! They do have trucks to grab something to snack on or drink. I most definitely will be back!!!!”

“A seasonal sensation! Had a wonderful time at this sweet farm in Flemington, NJ! Highly recommend visiting, especially during October! 🍁🎶🎃☀️🧡”

“We’ve been twice, both times for baby chicks. Morgan has helped us both times and she is really great, very nice and knowledgeable. The reason I’m leaving a 3 star review is bc everytime I’ve called to ask a question, the woman who answers the phone has such an attitude. Like she says everything with a perky voice but goes out of her way to make you/your question feel stupid, one time my question was simply if they had certain breeds in stock at certain ages.”

“Would not recommend, paid $15 per person for admission, very slim pickings for pumpkins and then paid another $30 for 2 pumpkins… love supporting local businesses but felt like it was a money grab. Would not recommend this farm”
