A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Vermont.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“On our way home from Vermont we stopped at Scott Farm Orchard. It’s amazing. Old school amazing. Heirloom apples. Some are like nothing you’ve had. Bumpy, weird, delicious. There’s a farm stand with maple products, preserves, sauces and pickles. Books, snacks and beverages. Incredible hard ciders. They build intricate stone walls here too. I need to find out more info on this. Looks like they have classes or something. I love this place. If your near Brattleboro: Check this place out. On and … pie happened.”

“What a great place! I had no idea that this was Rudyard Kipling's property area prior to stopping here. Beautiful landscape. Kipling home along the road. Had a cider donut, walked around a bit. Apple picking was already done for the season, but they had many apples for sale in the store”

“I’m so glad Google maps led me here! The farm is in the most picturesque, tranquil spot, and the family who runs it is the loveliest. The apples and cider, though! Get yourself a bag of apples and some hot cider; you won’t be sorry. Can’t wait to come back next year!”

“Cute farm outside Brattleboro. Came here last fall and got to sample some cider. They have a produce area that's very cute and well kept with fresh apples. Nice area to walk about and take some photos. I didnt go picking when I was there (don't remember why). Old structures with signs on them let you learn more about the farm's history.”
