“My partner planned a pumpkin picking date here at the end of October. We came on a Monday. It was Monday school was out, so there were a lot of kids there. Finding parking wasn't too difficult. We went inside and started looking at the items on sale. The prices were quite fair. I didn't find anything that I thought was overly priced. My partner purchased the hayride tickets online, so picking it up was easy and quick. We waited in line at 12:20pm for our 12:30pm right. I didn't matter that we were early because the hayride was full by the time it was our turn to pick a seat. It waited about 15 minutes for the next ride. The hayride from pick up location to the second pumpkin picking area was about a slow 10 minutes right. There are fun statues and arts to look at on the way there. The second location had two mazes and many photo opportunity spots. After taking a million pictures, we took the hayride back. I believe my partner said it was $17 per person. You can still enjoy this farm without the hayride. There are photo opportunities when you first enter. The only benefit of the hayride is seeing the fall foliage and taking more pictures. My partner and I purchased apple cider donuts, spaghetti squash, and butternut squash on the way out. The squash was about 30-40 cents more per pound than you would have paid at a farmer's market. All in all, I had a great time and would definitely come back next year.”

“I went with my mom on a Monday, the first day of the Hayrides and we absolutely adored how well thought out everything was, there is the market, pumpkin patch and plenty of photo opportunities. The hayrides were $17 for both of us and it takes you through an array of really cute and funny decor and another pumpkin patch with two corn mazes in the back. You’re allowed to stay more time than the 30 minutes scheduled so I would suggest bringing all the snacks from the market to eat there! All the employees were very helpful and Lilly the black farm cat was a sweetie too. Thank you!”

“When one thinks of the words ‘rural’ and ‘farmland,’ these are not terms one hears a lot in Bergen County, NJ, one of the most heavily populated counties to surround New York City. Yet the county has a rich history in farming and agriculture from the late 1600s up into the 1970s. The small farms in north Jersey do more than just provide fruits and vegetables for our tables. They are open-air classrooms to our agricultural past, places to buy fresh produce and baked goods to support local family farm stores, and places for interesting special events and outings for families. Being the first Saturday after Labor Day, my partner and I got a head start on the apple cider donuts made fresh daily, just oozing with apple cidery goodness and never hot. Since 1973, located on Airmont Avenue in Mahwah, Secor Farms is a reminder of Bergen County's rural past and one of the last farms left in the area, passed down through three generations. Upon arrival in the afternoon, parking was not an issue with only a handful of vehicles. However, the farm comes alive starting Sept 15 with a corn maze, hayrides, pumpkin picking, and a petting zoo where reservations are required, with all sorts of activities. Their outside garden centers had pumpkins, gourds, fall decorations, and mums for purchase. We went inside their marketplace full of produce and managed to get a bag of mixed apple cider donuts and a quart of apple cider. These baked donuts have the sweet tartness of apple cider with a coating of cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar. They were soft, moist, tender, and tastefully delicious. The price was reasonable. The staff was friendly. We can recommend this place.”

“A nice quick day out with my little sister to enjoy the “Apple/Pumpkin” season before it comes to an end. I would normally go early in September but was quite a busy bee, but we made it. I always try to venture to different locations each year. So this year we picked “Secor Farms”. It was cost effective which is always a plus. We took a couple of pictures, enjoyed a quick 10 min hayride and ended our adventure purchasing some “Apple Cider” donuts and “Apple Cider”. I will definitely come back just to purchase some donuts, delicious.”
