“I wanted to find somewhere to take my child strawberry picking for the first time. I checked a lot of the more well known spots. However, three or four said they didn’t have enough strawberries left to be picked! All valid reasons: picked over from Mother’s Day, lack of rain, the random freezes. One place went so far as to say if you’re more than 20 minutes away don’t bother. Skinquarter said they were open and to come out and pick! I was a little nervous there wouldn’t be much left. I worried for nothing! We found plenty of strawberries! There was a perfect amount. And good god, these are the best strawberries I have ever eaten. Bonus: we bought potatoes, sweet potatoes, ice cream, honey and pimento Cheese from the actual market!!”

“Amazing place! We’ve come for pumpkins and strawberries. So reasonable with costs - free hayrides. All fall activities are free other that cost for pumpkins. Note - you will NOT be picking pumpkins fresh from the vine. They’re pre-picked. Huge variety of gourds and pumpkins. The strawberries were great. I cleaned and stored them appropriately, and no joke, they lasted 2.5 weeks. Ones from the grocery store always seem to go bad in 3 days. The employees are kind. There’s a huge sand area outside with toys for the kids and plenty of picnic tables. There’s also Jimer’s Frozen Custard on site, but it seems to often break down or shut down early with little to no warning - so keep an eye on their Facebook page.”

“This family friendly little market has a nice selection of fresh local produce. There is a surprising display of different types of gourmet breads, sausage, bacon pork chops and tenderloin, as well Amish made sauces, relishes, jelly, fancy butters beyond apple. You can easily pick up ingredients for dinner and buy a pint of ice cream for desert. In the fall, they have hayrides. There is outdoor seating with an ice cream stand nearby.Located in Moseley, on route 360 west, just past the Richmond Metro Zoo.”

“Skinquarter Market was very great place to go to get my fresh fruit. I go there every year for pumpkins and usually year-round to get fruit. Their jelly section is very good. Delicious actually totally suggested because it’s a great for party fruits, and vegetables, like if you’re having like a farm themed party then maybe pick up some stuff from here. The watermelon are good too my sister love them.”

“My husband and I love to visit this place! We recently went to the pumpkin patch and the selection of pumpkins was amazing! They were so family friendly and we even went on a hay ride that my son enjoyed. Such a pleasant experience.”

“So. Many. Wasps. That wasn’t cool, especially when the 1yr old got stung. So I would recommend against eating here since that’s what drew them. Otherwise, we enjoyed the pile of hay bales to climb on, the corn maze and walking through the pumpkin patch. Got some great pumpkins at reasonable prices! They have lots of local apples, too.”

“Drove family from Powhatan 40 minutes away only to find out the ice cream we drove for is closed. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Google and the sign out front says open 10-6 all week. Ice cream is the best around. Please edit the time site time.”
